RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

I do believe that PB. And like I said, I believe in God. I just don't expect Him to solve all my woes.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

It will be a "miracle" if I stay on CS. I'm so embarrassed.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

I'm going to write a personal email to you.

Thank you for accepting my stupid comment.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

I didn't see this until I went further back in the posts.

I apologized. I'm sorry you feel I'm aggressive and negative.

I don't know your humour that well and I misinterpreted what you said and now I feel VERY bad. You're not in the wrong I am.
doh doh doh

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

I didn't understand it THAT way. I thought she meant...good luck girl, you ain't got a chance.

Apostrophe, I hope you will accept my apology. I was very wrong. I wish, as much as you do, that I didn't jump the gun, but I did and now all I can do is apologize.

So, if you're still talking to me.....how do I get Vinny rolling on the floor laughing

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

Wixie, where is the borderline of what is wrong for us? Simplified, if a man loses his job and is the breadwinner of a family of 6 people, isn't that "wrong" for him.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

Sorry Ambrose....my mood has changed.

Perfect example.....is this all God's doing that I'm taking Apostrophe's comment to heart and I'm wrong. And if I'm wrong, now God has to apologize to me for hurting my feelings. What are the chances of that Wixie.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

I'm giving you the benefit of doubt that you're not saying I don't have a chance with Vinny.

Of course I don't have a chance with him. I wrote the reasons why. If that is why you said "keep dreaming" why would you have the need to turn an informative and fun thread into a sarcastic comment. If you're not being sarcastic I'll apologize in advance.

Please advise what your post is about.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

On my goodness, you took the words out of my mouth JB.

I'm supposed to be heading out the door but I heard there's a bad accident on the highway I'd be traveling on so I think I'll hand for awhile with this thread.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing PERFECT !! I like it, I like it.

Of course now people are going to think I'm hittin on a young one. Not so guys. Mr. Vinny is a truly wonderful man, but we both know the limits of our relationship because of age difference and the miles between us.

So we are happy with being very special good friends.

But I'd still like to jump his bones

rolling on the floor laughing blushing

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

It's 2:50 p.m. in New Jersey. The office is closing at 3:00 for the holiday weekend.

I'm going to pray to God that between 3:00 p.m. today and 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, when I come back to work, that I meet a guy in a pink shirt who has aged 10 years older rolling on the floor laughing

Dang that ocean is a big one frustrated frustrated

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

I think you know me well enough to know my position on this... I´m not going to be down on my knees praying when I could actually be doing something usefull...

I do believe in the power of our brains however... so much is untapped and unknown about our brains, who knows what we really are capable of... perhaps prayer is just a way of focusing thoughts and brain power to achieve what it is we desire.[/quote]

That's what I mean JB. We are given the common sense to use our brains. Sometimes we act stupid, sometimes we act smart, but whatever we do, it isn't because it was wished upon us.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

Snuggie sound good to me.

rolling on the floor laughing Yeah, I guess I believe in God when I need Him and not when I feel betrayed.

To turn it around, I think whateve belief that I have in God gives me the strength to handle my life. Such as the other day.... I was a .... as you say.... an effin mess laugh My life was down the tubes for that day. But, I had the common sense to ask for help from my friends and sure as hell they were there for me.

We don't get all our smarts from books or the streets. Somewhere there is a power that shows us the way. So many people believe in Karma..... I don't.

If people are comfortable and believe in prayer, then it is good for them. Whatever works for each person is what they should do.

If God had an email address it would be crashing all the time.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

Well, let me put it this way. I'm afraid not to believe in Him. I just don't put all the weight on the guy. When I was a young child I was raised as a Lutheran. I was forced to go to Sunday School and when my mother insisted that I go to church as an adult, I dressed up and went to my boyfriend's house. Later on I wanted to go to church but when the church said I had to give a certain amount of money in the collection plate I decided I wanted out.

If I'm asked do I believe in God...yes I do. But not to the point that I would get on my knees and beg for mercy. Even if my daughter's life was at stake, I truly don't believe that way up there above the clouds there is a figment of the brainwashing I learned that will save her life.

My husband, who was an athesist, told me that he wanted proof that there is a God. But he also told me that when he was in a foxhole he was scared and prayed to God to keep him safe.

RE: Do you feel God answers prayers?

This will be difficult to explain, but I'll give it a try.

I believe that we are all our own God. In other words, we are the one who makes the prayer answered. We are the one who does bad things.

It's often asked when there is the murder of a child, why would God do such a terrible thing. Even if there is a diety, He doesn't do good or bad.

When I need to make a decision, praying to God is like praying to myself.

Hi SC .... The styrofoam containers annoy me too. I've read that they will never dissolve. When I stop for coffee I have a choice of using styrofoam or paper and I always choose paper for my coffee.

Diapers.....OMG....There wasn't such a thing when my daughter was a baby (1964). If you wanted it easy, you hired a diaper service to pick up your cloth diapers and wash them for you. Can't imagine having that luxury.

Wix....maybe things will be different if you put a pink shirt ondunno

To tell you the truth, I'm selective who I approach about it.

Never in the office cause that opens the door for confrontation and the people here will tell me to mind my own business.

If I saw it again at the grocery store or anywhere like that, I'd approach them in a very friendly way and make it look like they didn't know there was a trash can over there.

Where are you leaving your footprint

Okey dokey.... the thread is on

Isn't it always that children model what their parents do.

If the parents are ignorant and self-praising as my parents were, the attitude is ....it's my way and no other way.

I see it here in the office. You wouldn't believe the arrogant attitude people have about leaving their junk around.

Example: Somebody sends something to the printer. They see that it isn't what they thought they sent so they throw it on the table when there is a trash can right underneath the table.

The kitchen: People get their coffee, it spills a little, the sugar fly a little, but do they take a paper towel and clean it up....Nooooooooooooooooo. It's left for the maid. But we don't have a maid here. All we have is each other.

It's often asked, "do they do that at home". Chances are they do. I'm a freakin nut when it comes to cleanliness whether my desk at work or at home.

In the town I live in, which is of low income, I see guys driving hot cars, wearing designer clothes but they throw their trash on the street.

Good point Vinny. I don't want SX to get banned.

How about we close the thread. OR,

just forget about Webbles and

either continue with the subject or

the girls can flirt like hell with Vinny. It's up to you..

Oh lordy, lordy, lordy rolling on the floor laughing We're back on track. Thank you Vee.

I think it's the same 'ol thing....it's not mine....I don't care attitude. If it doesn't snow for the plow to pick it up, it will probably be there Tuesday morning when I come back to work.

GET OUT !!! You have no right to come in this thread, or anyones thread, and accuse them of being a liar.

If you have a problem with someone, tell them in personal email.

READ THE RULES.

Do you know how easy it would be to get you banned from using this site.

Do you know that 99.9% of the people on this site are decent people who know how to get along with others.

Guess who the 1% is that is different.

Morgan, just saw you. Awww, I'm just trying. If I had let her get away with it then I would have been as incondiderate as she was. Nice to see you my friend.

Where are you leaving your footprint

Well, the troll detoured us and we got off the thread subject. That's okay.

There were some good responses and it's no problem that Pebbly Webbly put her illerate comments in. It's like the mosquito that nags at you until you beat it to death with a paddle laugh

I hope to hear other opinions of what goes on in their neighborhood with trash littering.

Does your area have a fine if you litter?

But if no one else responds, please remember that here in the U.S. it is Memorial Day weekend.

A time to remember our war heroes who have sacrificed their life for each and every one of us. A time to remember our loved ones who have passed on.

And remember, when you have that backyard cookout, when you go to the beach, drive down the highway, hang out in the park, or the mountains, please clean up your trash. It's a good thing.

I'll check back in a little while so that I can be courteous to new responses.

Where are you leaving your footprint

No, no, no Laura, you didn't make a mistake.

My asking about Singapore had nothing to do with what you said.

Where are you leaving your footprint

Thank you for your response. Do you think it has something to do with "the times a changing". I haven't checked how old you are but I am a product of the '40s and when I was growing up in the 50's littering wasn't a problem. When I think about it, I do remember the lack of consideration started in the 60's. A war was going on....a much hated war....and people changed their values. Free love and drugs were popular. Thinking about the next guy wasn't a priority. Much like now. People are caught up in themselves with all that is going on in the world.
