You are a "wise old man" when you can accept the fact that a guy of 35 with a six-pack is infinitely more attractive to women than you, with your spare tire and balding head, ever will be. Acceptance is part of the dignity that over-50 guys have.
Let's assume for a moment that the US achieves the same level of 'success' in Afghanistan that they did in Iraq. Someone tell me again what was achieved in Iraq? That is an unloaded question. Was it worth it? is it really essential to global security?
