'not serious about a serious subject, in an attempt to be funny or to appear clever'
i was being serious and find no reason to attempt to appear clever, anyone who actually knows me, knows that i am clever - i feel no need to shout about it. i am sorry you took what i said this way.
'It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.'
sorry, you can't calaim or do any of those things in a forum, you should also not use the big print thing as looks like you are shouting your head off. (and brings to mind a man waving a book around in the air!)
if you shout too much you'll rattle your brains and all the words you've stuffed in there might either get mixed up or fall out. you might like to think what i'm saying is nonsense and call it such, but it's fitting in here rather well. i'm also puzzled that such a person as yourself with the ability to remember all those words is wasting his intelligence in this manner. there are many activities in the world that require such intelligence, yet you have chosen posting on forums of a dating site about what you do and don't believe in. it just seems rather a futile exercise unless your real aim here is not to date but simply posture and amuse people. you wrote a decent poem when you joined first, it had more power in it than all you have posted since on these threads and word for word was a much better investment of your time...

so you don't think it's wise to study both sides of the argument? we're on international here and there is no 5th in an argument, all ideas should be shared for the fat chewing...
the author Harold Waldwin Percival was a very good writer, at least one science fiction writer was inspired by him if not more. it's unwise to only read one book or the writings of one author. if you are a judge in a courtroom you have to listen to both sides equally to come to a conclusion. there are many 'very good' writers and some write fiction and some write facts. i find terry pratchett a very good writer, he doesn't take life too seriously, makes me smile and i admire his candour. he will also acknowledge to himself and others that what he writes is fiction.
..i saw that - you are so cool laura. i am still a newbie at this conflict on the threads and unsure if i want to become an expert.. but these two profiles snap and cut at people all the time for no apparent reason. they really don't seem to like the love either!
spawns of satan usually take normal names don't they..you would be better off observing her eating habits...you know - a lot of raw red meat, non-descript deli food with no content labels...
good morning...sheesh! i expected a reaction..not on the scale of what happened..i see you picked up some flack, that wasn't my intention - i did think about reporting at least one of the profiles but she will just come back as someone else, so there is no point.
no worries..i just found it interesting that she goes to such lengths and all she will find is a real person here.
actually i feel sorry for her..i have made a lot of lovely new friends here and all she seeks and finds is conflict and a place to vent her frustration.
my my aren't we 'both' tetchy?..i only said you posted something similar... sorry to offend, thought you might have been chuffed if you are such good friends...
i find the regular posters on the forums with no pic as much fun and just as genuine as those with pics. but in my mailbox etc.. they have obviously not read my profile properly and they get no answers.
