City of pain

Heartbeat weak,
About to stop,
Like the windings
of a worn out clock,
Only the faintest of
ticks and tocks,
I stare in despair
at the repair shop,
Every door,
boarded and locked,
Come with me see
We'll take a walk,
Through the streets
of a town that time forgot,
I'll talk of things
that used to be,
Tales of people
like you and me,
The roads will tell
of a brighter time,
Busy, bustling passersby,
Laughing, talking,
living life,
Now only lonely echoes
and broken street lights,
Down dead end alleys,
Past memory lanes,
Trash and litter
all over the place,
Dumpsters all full
like its garbage day,
Desolate and deserted
so noone stays,
Just one inhabitant
stands in the rain,
Alone in his own,
City of Pain...

Pirates Life

Off I go through the Amazon,
Hot on the trail of Ghengis Khan,
Going to sacrifice a virgin or two,
Sailing a ship to Katmandu,
The Bermuda triangle is nice it seems,
Tropic weather and summer greens,
Even underwater submarines
soaking in the seven seas,
My saber swings in the salty breeze,
Its a pirates life for me,
Yes a pirate's what I'll be,
Its a pirates life for me!

Into the abyss

Tired of the atmosphere,
This lower mental plane,
Sick of sighing endlessly,
With burns from acid rain,
This massive pain develops,
As the drops create a lake,
An avalanche of happenstance,
Too much for me to take,
Pushing down I almost drown,
As waves begin to break,
The salt is nothing new to me,
I swallow from the drink,
Try to organize my thoughts,
But it's so hard to think,
Pressure pressing too extreme,
In silent screams I sink below,
Cold is taking over now,
And everything is slow,
I think I have
somewere to be,
but I've nowhere to go...

Your smile

The day is dull,
My mood is dark,
Your smile softens
this hardest of hearts,
Overcast clouds,
Threating rain,
Your smile brightens
the gloomiest days,
Weight of the World,
Pressure so great,
Your smile makes it
easy to take,
When I close my eyes,
Its all I see,
Your smile means
everything to me...

The Ride

Hey doll,
You want to go for a ride?,
Let's get together,
Leave this whole world behind,
Baby,
Want to have a good time?,
No strings,
Just put your hand in mine,
Hey darling,
Let me show you the life,
The kind you thought
that you'd never find,
Baby,
let's go for a drive,
Get in and let the
engine unwind,
Sugar,
let's go for a ride,
Turn the music to
whatever you like,
Hun want to go for a ride?,
You and me just feels so right,
Maybe you want to go for a ride?
Baby let's go for a drive...

Vulnerability...

Inside a expanse of chaotic dark,
Into my abyss I did stalk,
Arrived at my workshop and
there I stopped,
Fitting my heart
with an unbreakable lock,
In the deepest dungeon,
I found a strong box,
I wiped off the cobwebs
and dusted the top,
Once it was shut and
chained up tight,
I double checked it was
chained up right,
Posted a guard on it,
Day and night,
Barbed wire and gun turrents,
Sharp spikes on uppermost posts,
CCTV camera system specifically
designed to watch it close,
Then you came into my life,
Rummaging and pilfering,
Like a thief in the night,
My walls you did break,
My love you did take,
Is there truly nowhere,
My heart will be safe...

Last poem(challenge)

This is my last poem, sad to say,
For today, my friends, I am going away,
On a craft built by other dimensional creatures,
What wild unimaginable indescribable features,
See I put out my thumb and they offered me a ride,
They stopped their spaceship and I got inside,
Wrote a little note to post at poets corner,
"Tony's on vacation eight galaxies over..."

Shadow of a tear

On a black sand beach,
In the back of my mind,
By the shadow of a tear,
In the blink of an eye,
On the outside edge of
the longest sigh,
Here is where I
send my fears,
A lake from my eyes
like I cried for years,
Just one time cant
something go right,
There's no light left
in an endless night,
The stars have all winked
out of sight,
Its so quiet
the silence is nice,
The water calm and
cold as ice,
I dive into the
frigid brink,
But in sorrow you
Dont float, you sink,
My heart a heavy weight,
Pulling me down,
Liquid fills lungs
with gurgling sounds,
Thoughts of you as I
slowly drown,
Im going to a
better place now...

Sick and tired...

I'm so tired of people,
Tired of lies,
Tired of living a tired life,
Tired of working,
Tired of sleeping,
Tired of looking so tired and beat,
I'm so tired of weakness,
Tired of pity,
Tired of disgust,
Tired of sympathy,
Tired of cussing about it,
Tired of acting,
Tired of answering,
Tired of asking,
So tired of breathing my lungs are collapsing,
Tired of being sick,
Tired of being healthy,
Tired of trying to get moderately wealthy,
Tired of being lonely,
Tired of company,
Tired of looking inward and seeing only ugly,
Tired of drinking,
Tired of trying to cope,
Tired of dealing,
Tired of dope,
I get tired of the charade,
Tired of hiding pain,
Like I said in the beginning,
I get tired of this game...

The great thirst

I hold up my cup to catch the rain,
Tasting on my tongue like salty sea spray,
Choking on sadness, hurt, and regret,
Mixed with angry, bitter, emptiness,
Despite this I take another sip,
Liquid stinging cracked, parched lips,
I find after a time it's not so bad,
The flavor grows on you in fact,
This thirst I hope subsides with time,
Drink after drink of the running brine,
Gulping down these tears of mine...

looney

I Could be a couple shades shy of a
colorful palette,
A few grapes short of a full fruit salad,
I dig in my picnic basket,
But there's no sandwich,
Perhaps a posse of people less
than a populated planet,
Playing the game but don't know the score,
Excuse me sir..,
this elevator doesn't go
all the way to the top floor,
Not the sharpest tool in the shed
or knife in the drawer,
Like the lights are on ,
but no one answers the door,
Bloody bats in the belfry,
Some screws are loose,
The ice tray is missing a few ice cubes,
My Happy Meal has half its fries,
Seems all the stars aren't in my sky,
Or just one star is missing from my trek,
Heck ,I guess I'm not playing with a full deck...

I am gone

When I lost you,
I lost most of me,
Now I can't find who I used to be,
Though I'm searching desperately,
There was a guy with spark in his eye,
Joking, smiling, laughing at life,
There was a girl he loved so much,
He gave her his heart,
His soul,
His trust,
Because he thought,
He knew who she was,
It fell apart one awful day,
A good honest man went away,
Full of sorrow anger and pain,
He felt he could no longer stay,
Alone inside,
I feel so bare,
Because part of me is no longer there...
