Tribute to World War II Veterans..

Step outside your
dwelling if
you will..
Scoop up a handful
of soil..
and be..
silent
If you listen
closely you will
hear a sound..
The sound of
Valor
Soliders marching
to Victory..
Soliders who stand
like a mountain
that cannot be
moved..who will
not be moved..
The American
solider..
Fire, blood, and
steel is in
his veins
The spirit of
The Almighty
forges him onward
through countless
conflicts
And the enemy is
set to confusion
The smoke of the
battlefield is
an offering of
incense to his
courage, and as
a lion he flinches
not in in the
face of death..
Through cold,through
sweltering heat
through deprivation,
through hunger
through exhaustion
through the madness
of the battle..
through the jagged
steel of hells valley..
emerges.. the American
Solider
To all the allies
that stood side by
side..
WE will never foget..
Certainly many books
have been written
about the sacrifice
of countless fallen
heroes
And the survivors
stand as testaments
to the spirit of
liberty
To a spirit which
may at times seem
eclisped by the
cares of the day
Yet is ever ready to
rise with the morning
sun to do battle
against the injustice
of evil
And if a day should
come that you're
asked to go to
such and such town
to pause at the
foot of some
monument honoring
these Veterans..
Show them the
very soil you
hold in your
hand and say
to them..
Here is their
monument.. the
very ground on
which I stand..
I walk upon this
ground in freedom
I traverse this
land unhindered
because Eagles
have gone before
me..

Who's Viewed You?!!

The long anticipated
day had arrived!
You ready yourself
for the mysterious
date..
The photograph of
them was rather
vague
But the messages were
so nice
So you went for it..
You invited this
wonderful person
to your place for
dinner
Your date would
arrive in fifteen
minutes
You are so excited!
It was getting rather
dark outside and you
couldn't quite make
out the figure moving
up your driveway
Trusting soul that
you are you rush
to the front door
and adjust your
attire
But suddenly you
notice a strange
and rather huge
shape lurking on
your front steps
That mysterious form
stood some 12 feet
tall
Still, you took the
chain off the lock
and opening the door
slightly you gave a
cheerful 'hello!'
There was no reply..
The only sound that
shape made was a deep
sounding Grunt!
You ran and snatched
your flashlight to get
a better look at your
wonderful date
You rushed back to the
door and shone the light
right on this weird
shape
You froze in panic
You could not believe
your eyes!
This was no date!
It was the SCAMMER FROM
THE LOST LAGOON!
Its huge claw clamped
your door and ripped
it from its hindges
Now you could see its
slime dripping face
It had one giant red
eye and IT WAS WINKING
AT YOU!
Its 200lb. tongue
dragged the porch
Yes! It had come for
dinner and you were
Din Din!
THIS, WAS YOUR E-MAIL
DARLING!
AND IT WAS IN LOVE!
BUT TO YOUR AMAZEMENT
THIS THING BEGAN TO
SPEAK!
AS YOU WERE GOING
DOWN ITS THROAT
IT SOMEHOW GOT A
SENTENCE OUT..
IT SAID:
BET YOU WISHED WE'D
MET IN A PUBLIC
PLACE!
GULP!!

Would you like to
post a poem?
O, It can be
anything you
like..
Like the Fantasy
of our love
a Thriller of
a write
Perhaps Lost Love
won't do it
It suggests to
much friction
Spiritual but
not religious?
Now there's your
Science Fiction!
O, Dark Poetry
is deep
You'd be in
over your
head
Try sheding light
on Forgiveness
and the Friendship
that is dead
Feeling Patriotic?
That could get a
bit Political
Tell'em how we
lost our Family
Not so
Inspirational
What shall you
call your
poem?
Don't worry, it'll
come to you
dear
I'll be the first

Solomon

The old man retired
to his tent
His sons would war
among themselves
for the crown
Yet, the rightful
inheritor to the
throne would be
decided by divine
appointment..
The dying king would
not concern himself
with such matters
tonight..
Tonight, he would
write, being under
the compulsion of
that still small
voice that had
used his mortal
frame to dictate
the timeless truths
that had won him
world fame
A fame that had
brought kings and
queens to sit at
his feet and absorb
a deceptively simple
wisdom..a wisdom
sharpened by the
axe of the Almighty
Himself
The hunched king
knew his days were
drawing to a close,
a departure he
described as'the
silver cord being
broken..'
But before the cord
was broken he knew
he must complete
the task of writing
the golden nuggets
of truth that would
resonate through the
ages
He had felt the impact
of many of those truths
in his own experience..
After all..was he not
a king? Was he not renown
for wisdom beyond all
mortals?
And yet, did he not play
the fool with idols of
wood and stone?
Yes, these things must
be recorded too lest
man trust in the
reasonings of man..
The light from a
flickering candle
illuminated the
interior of the tent,
and with a shaking
hand the king carefully
unrolled the fresh
parchment delivered
to him by his tent
guard
And as it had happened
through the penning of
a thousand proverbs
preceding this, the
shadow of divine thought
quickened his mind
The king paused..
What shall be the
conclusion of so illustrious
a life as his?
The summing up as it
were of all things..
When the ink had dried
must not these words
become a living
testament to the ages?
Must not the wise and
the simple be held
to account in the very
reading of such words?
Shall those who consider
such thoughts continue
to chase the wind?
The Almighty would tease
the soul into a more
worthy consideration when
the king begins writing:
'There is a time for
everything, and a season
for every pursose under
heaven..'
And all the words the
king wrote after that
would be left to the
souls of all future
generations to feed
upon..
Generations who would
question themselves..
Untold millions who
would inquire into
the very nature of
such wisdom
And from time to time
they will ask themselves
'Who was inspired to
write such words?'
And the elders among
them will not hesitate
to tell them that the
man they inquire about
was just a man..
'A man endowed by the
spirit of God's
wisdom
A man they call..
Solomon~'

Bad Day

I parted the curtain
from my second story
bedroom window..
I surveyed the lawn
and picked the spot
where I would perform
my terrible deed
It was Christmas
morning, but for
me.. it was just
another day
My family I decided
to spare, but for
the neighbors..
there would be
no mercy
They were all
going to pay
For them, today,
would be
A Bad Day!
I removed the
gun and holster
from the box I
hid under my
bed
A smug grin
washed accross
my face as I
strapped the
gun to my waist
I strutted down
the stairs like
the killer gunman
everyone knew
I was
For a moment I
Paused to instill
fear into my sister
with my feared
outlaw gaze
She just started
crying and ran
into the kitchen
to mom
I didn't care
about her fear
She was just
another pathetic
mortal
I walked right past
my father, and to
my surprise he
almost seemed to
enjoy what I was
about to do
But the smile
quickly left his
face as I opened
the front door
and scanned the
the lawn where
in only a few
moments a great
carrnage would
take place
I stepped onto
the porch..
The first victum
would be the old
bag next door
She never did
like me, and
now she would
have good reason
She peered at me
from behind her
partly opened
door
I squeezed off
three rounds
They found their
mark
She slumped onto
her floor and
that was that
She would not
be missed
Then, suddenly
the lust for
blood swept
through my
soul and I began
shooting neighbors
at random
Four fools dared
come within range
of my eagle eye
Had not my reputation
preceded me?
Should I not now
make them beg me
to die?
I held nothing
back now
Reloading again
and again
Dozens of useless
bodies
clutter up my
lawn, my gun
barrel red hot
with rage
Then suddenly, as
I was about to
drop one more
local peasant my
father called out
to me..'Son, come
back into the house
and open your other
Christmas presents
now..' It's a bit
cold out today and
you can play with
your new toy gun
when Uncle Bill
gets here..'
Yes, my friends,
I'll come in from
the cold..but remember..
Tomorrow is another
day..a special day..
I will be six years
old!

if words could touch..

if words could
touch
i would need
no hands
if my voice
could embrace
you on golden
sands
then would i
speak my love
into your
soul
a whispered
word would
make us
whole~

Human Rights

Are human rights
a yardsale..
Bargained for
a buck or two
Exposed to the
elements of
chance
Awaiting vultures
to pick through
Will rain dampen
the hopes
Of our most
sacred possession
The right to choose
as we will
Without fear of
retaliation~

Don't Break My Heart! Easter..

Don't break my
heart
Don't let me
fall to the
ground as
meaningless
dust
Don't tell me
love is an
illusion
Don't tell me
hope is a
trick mirror
of the mind
Reach down
through time..
Find me
Tell me your
story in the
inner man
Tell me..
I will listen
I hear the
mockery of the
soldiers
And your mother
Your mother!
She falls breathless
in horror
But she was told
a sword would
pierce her
heart
Look what they've
done to you!
Why are you
doing this?!
I am not worth
all that
suffering
Am I?
Don't break
my heart
Don't tell me
you're going to
pay that kind
of price!
How can I
forget you?
The image of
your cross
burns through
eternity
And your gentle
voice whispers
in every ear
Come closer
What are you
saying?
You said,'This
is what I meant
when I said..
I Love You!!!'

Needful Things

Through the fog
of this lower
world the candle
of truth
illuminates an
uncertain and
dangerous path
because..
it is needful
For eyes dim
with fear and
doubt are the
gifts of
darkness..
Along this path
voices taunt
from within
and without
Accusing eyes
pierce the mist
and the soul
longs to be
awakened from
this sleepless
journey because..
it is needful
The fruits of
this foreign
land do not
nurish forever
There is no
tree of life
rooted in
dying soil
But its decaying
leaves smile
with hope as
they fall
silently
There is nothing
here but endless
trails
trails that lead
anywhere
nowhere..
because..it is
needful
Sigh, breathe
deep
hang your head
but keep
moving
In time, in
due time
the sundial
will be robbed
of its
shadow
and a new kind
of light will
emerge
because..
it is needful..
And when purpose
and reason have
fulfilled its
destiny
Then shall wisdom
be summoned
home
Then shall false
knowledge be
made to give
an account
Then those held
captive by reason
of darkness
Sit free in the
newness of
themselves
And if anyone
of these asks,'
Why have these
things been
ordered so..'
No harsh words
will they hear
But a kind voice
will say to
them..
because..
These were
needful things~

Didn't Think

You didn't think
I was aware of
your hair
The way you move
stepping off
that stair
You didn't think
I was paying
attention
To the subtle
glance of
vailed intention
You didn't think
I knew what to
do
You didn't know
I was thinking
like you~
