Love Scale

On a scale of one to ten
you might choose number
seven-
But if it's perfection
you want then ten you'll
hunt
Now there's a bit of heaven-
Eight is fine but not quite
nine and five will never do-
Three and four is just a bore
and if you're drunk you'd
settle for two-
And when the rating is done
there's only six and one
and you know that's way to low-
So add it all up on the scale
of love to see what the numbers
show~

Here's Johnny!

Got nothin' to say, and I'm sayin' it now,Just toss me a pen and I'll show ya how, I fiddle and scribble, the whole day through..reeking havoc in class the way I do..I disrupt my class on a daily basis,Just to watch the looks on those tortured faces,Who voted me the one most likely to fail,To spend 99 years in the county jail,And my teacher, poor thing, such dedication!,since they tripled her dose of medication, In time I'd be silenced by divine intervention,She assures me in sobs to pitiful to mention,Yes, I'm Johnny be good in your wildest dreams,And you never know what tomorrow brings, I might stay home,or I could drag in late,But whichever I choose is a dreadful fate, For the class, the school, and the public at large,Who humbly kneel to Johnny in charge!

About this poem:
I was a school bus driver for 5 years. But this poem is not so much about my school bus kids as it is about me and the way I was in school. But I had a few kids that might pretty much fit this description. That's why I could relate to them so well. lol.

My dream woman..

When I first saw your radient
smile my heart melted like
butter
But you had a boyfriend then
and he was your only lover
Your brunette hair sculpted
down your cheek..you seemed
a princess to me
But to hold you in passions
embrace was never meant to be
The months rolled on and I
watched you walk from your
car to your house
I lay in bed with a terrible
dread but grieved like a lonely
mouse
You found another abuser though
good looking he was
Oh, how the pain ripped me night
and day as I dreamed of your
sweet love
In the mornings you'd smile and
wave as I drove off to work
Yet my broken heart took years
to heal knowing you actually
married that jerk~

Loving You

If I could love you
more I'd steal the
morning star..
And on every mountain
have I climbed to seek
you from afar..
When I reach down into
your crying heart I turn
your night to day..
And when your trembling
knees are to weak to stand
I chase your fears away..
'Oh, yes, my love! I treasure
you more than the finest choice
of gold..
I breathe on you my sweetest
love such as never can be
told..
Though you see me not I'm
holding you up though my
spirit from above..
And every twinkling star
that smiles on you can
never match my love~

Unfinished poem..

I leave these few lines
for you to complete
Whether you're swimming
in wealth or living on
the street
Only you hold the key
to your hearts sweet
chime
Only you can write the
words to your souls true
rhyme
So here is your story..x..
the one..x..you'll write
..x...Christmas eve..x..
and..x..special night~

A Christmas List

A Christmas list for
the world..
for us all-
That we shun the lust
and greed that leads to
war and the unspeakable
attrocities we commit against
one another-
That we view wealth as a good
thing until the quest of that
wealth leads us to devalue the
worth and natural rights of
people-
That we are graced to see that
mercy, compassion, and justice
is the crown jewel of human
character, and is a pearl beyond
price-
That we see that all the achievements
of man are not worth a single life-
That we are bound to repeat the mistakes
of the past so long as we believe we are
made in the image of the mere beast and
not that of God-
That are destinies are not determined by
the motions of the planets, but by our
free will to accept or reject the revelation
of divine providence in our lives-
That on any given day we can be either brilliant
or stupid, but that we are endowed with the God-
gived intelligence to steward the earth and resolve
the seemingly insurmountable problems that have
beset humanity from time immemorial-
It is time to awake to Christmas..
to Hope-
It is the morning star that awakens the sleeping
man who wallowing in his childlike preconceptions
and in his wandering on the earth in the futility
of his imagination-
A list for the poor lost soul seeking to exact
revenge on those who would steal his goods-
A list for those who seek atonement in the
retaliation of war..
for those who believe that man is the measure
of all things-
For the scientists who burn the midnight oil
seeking the ever illusive God-particle and end
up relegating their origin and worth to some
primordial soup-
A list that would kindly remind man that there
still remains a star atop the Christmas tree-
A star worthy of notice..
The star of Christ~

The Queen of Hearts

She's travelled a path
few have ventured..
And yet..heart thorns
are soothed by the divine
hand
Perhaps she gave away to
much in the worlds reckoning
but the world reckons with
a heart of doubt
Her mission in life was
showered on the plight of the
homeless and she peeled away
any vestige of self to secure
her mission
She exchanged the kiss of galantry
for the tattered dress of a servant
When her slim figure and chic manner
could have secured for her plush
carpets and crystal chandliars
she chose an abode with the poorly
heated houses of the hungry and
needful
Her name was the whisper of affection
in realms that only a hearts musician
could write
The forsaken and disinfranchised saw
the God of love when she parted her
lips in angelic smile
Warm soup and hearty conversation was
the music of the heavens
Poverty found the richness of love in
run down buildings and in smoking rolled
tobacco in cold winter huddles
At the sound of 'Light's out,' she would a
always say,'Goodnight gentleman..' for this
is the day that the Lord has made..'
Stomachs would be full but hearts would
ever hunger for the sound of her voice..
For the love in that voice of their
beautiful queen''
The Queen of hearts~

Ego

Ego is the flower on
a dead mans grave
Ego took the bullet
from the unasumming
brave
Ego struts high, much
higher than most
But the lowliest of
the low put an end to
that boast~

Old Man Winter

I'd rather dip summer
rainbows in my coffee
than put on old man
winters coat~

I'd rather Mr. Frosty
have a melt down and
let me go fishing in
my boat~

I'd rather my thermastat
say 90 than 45 below~

I'd rather be swimming at
bikini beach than shovel
this foot of snow~

Wish old man winter would
chill just once so I can
warm up this old house~

Cause if he had to pay
my electric bill he'd be
on the next train south~

My love

You said,'You'd meet me at the
rivers edge where we could talk
for a while..'
Yes, I knew what you meant, as
I made that drive..but inside
me was a smile
You probably thought we'd sit
and talk til I felt you were
quite at ease
But I knew in my heart of hearts
it was your soul I needed to please
I let you speak for a minute or
two but the fire was already
burning
And when I held your face in the
palm of my hands that passion was
ever churning
I couldn't heal the hurt you felt
when your lover had left you cold
But perhaps I could show you a
better way if only to listen and
to hold
After an hour or so of warm embrace
I kissed you on your cheek
Perhaps when your feeling stronger
and gathered yourself a truer love
you'll seek~
