GEOTHERMAL ENERGY why not?

The earth's core produces constant heat. If you drill down you can extract this heat and have a constant source of hot water to create energy. The used water can be returned and reheated, so you have a constant loop of cool water going down and hot water coming up. To enable the extraction on an industrial scale, the oil and gas companies have the expertise to do the drilling. The product is green. The only risks are earthquakes. But these can be avoided and reduced to small quakes which are controlled if they occur.

UN REPORT ON XINJIANG

The UN has reported that the detention of Uyghur Muslims is a crime against humanity. There is evidence of torture, sterilisation, forced medical treatment, separation from families etc.
The report says that these people should be released.
China, of course, denies any such activity.

BEWARE OF HEALERS

There are people who masquerade as healers and profess to have the ability to change a person's life for the better, as long as they follow their instructions. This is just another method of exerting control over vulnerable individuals, and establishing a regime of power to satisfy the purveyors need to dominate. These power seekers can be found acting independently or in religious cults. Don't be fooled by their willingness to help, or stories of successful outcomes. It is all a confidence trick. Your mind belongs to you. Don't let anyone try to interfere with it. Most problems can be solved by taking the time to reflect on issues and deciding the correct course of action. You will then have the satisfaction of resolving matters yourself.

ANGKOR WAT TEMPLE.

This temple was built in North Cambodia in the 12th century. One thing that stands out on the decorative panels is a design of what appears to be a prehistoric animal. A stegosaurus. How could people of that time have known about such a creature? It is not until 200 years ago that any such animals could be identified.

PHOBIAS

According to health definition, if you have an overwhelming and debilitating fear of an object, place, situation, feeling or animal, then you are suffering with Phobia.
Arachnophobia affects 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men.
The symptoms are, increased heart rate, rapid breathing, trembling and nausea. These symptoms would justify the term phobia.
Well, I know I hate spiders, but usually only if in a confined space, and before I can relax I must somehow remove it. It amazes me how some people pick them up and deposit them outside
Why I have this hatred of the creatures puzzles me. I can only think it is some justifiable fear from when we evolved and had dangerous experiences with poisonous varieties, which still exist.
Heights bother me, and can only think that this is a safety device to warn me of danger. Why doesn't everyone have this fear?
What fears, if any do you have?
help wow uh oh

FROM INDIA WITH LOVE PART 10D The Orient Express continued from 10C

Continued from part 10C...........
The man stood up and walked towards a distant corridor.
Lana spoke, He's leaving now. Be careful.
Crown moved quickly and followed Asimov. He was just about in sight, then disappeared. Crown approached cautiously. There were two remaining carriages. The last one was used as an observation room with a rear exit that enabled people to stand safely at the train's extremity. No one was there, presumably thought Crown, they were all dining in their compartments or the restaurant. As Crown entered this last section, an arm grabbed him round the neck. It was such a tight hold that he couldn't breathe. Crown kicked back at Asimov's shins. The grip slackened. Now an elbow to his stomach. They both faced each other. Asimov had metal knuckle protectors and lashed out at Crown who was stunned by the force and crashed the ground. Asimov produced a gun, but Crown managed to throw a chair at him, knocking the weapon from his hand. The Russian ran to open the rear exit door, and climb the short ladder to the roof. Crown followed. Asimov was about one carriage distance from Crown, who now had his own gun to hand. The train was at full speed and balance was difficult to maintain. Asimov faced Crown and produced a knife. Crown could have shot him there, but he saw another option. If he could engage the Russian with a moments conversation, and keep him focused in his direction.
Well, Asimov, I could shoot you now.
Why don't you then?
Because I have other plans for you.
Asimov laughed. Like what?
Those were his last words. Crown lay flat on the carriage roof. Asimov was unaware of the impending tunnel. When a body travelling at 70 mph hits a brick wall, the result is terminal. Crown kept flat until the train emerged.

FROM INDIA WITH LOVE Part 11b The Final episode

This Continues from Part 11A

Before Asimov could answer, Crown lifted the ice bucket and dived forward at the Russian's gun. The pistol fired instantly and the bullet penetrated the metal base, but the ice acted as another barrier. Crown felt a force hit him in the chest, but he had to take advantage and pin Asimov down. Lana picked up Crown's gun and waited for the opportunity to shoot. The Russian used his feet to force Crown back and just as he was about to fire, one shot rang out. Phut! Asimov clutched at his throat and slumped back in his chair. Lana stood over him pointing the gun in case he recovered. Crown stood up and checked the Russian's pulse.
He's dead this time. Crown looked at Lana. That was some shooting.
I've never shot anyone before, but glad now that I knew how.
So am I. Now, we need to remove his body. We'll stick him in his cabin. I'll use his key. Crown opened the door and checked that the corridor was clear, and together they dragged Asimov through the doorway. Crown put his gun in the Russian's hand and arranged it to look like suicide. It would delay suspicion until they were clear of the train. He put the Champagne bottle next to the body after first emptying most of the contents down the sink. The remainder was poured into the deceased's mouth. Another clue as to the cause of death. The door was locked again and the two agents returned to their cabin. Crown cleaned any blood spillage with a towel and then discarded it out of a corridor window.
They sat on the bed with relief. I assumed the tunnel had finished him, said Crown. I should have shot him when I had the chance.
It's over now, said Lana. Sometimes if there's a way other than cold blooded killing, it's only human to take it. Your action was correct.
Perhaps you're right, Lana. With hindsight it would have been different. We'd better get ready to leave the train. It's due into Gare de L'est in a few minutes. We must now get that Cypher to the British embassy and advise Noon at HQ.
On arrival in Paris, Crown and Lana hailed a taxi to take them to the Embassy at 35, Rue due Fauborg Saint - Honore, 75008, Paris.
After entering the building, Crown revealed his identity, and was met by another operative.
Jack Crown! So glad to meet you. We have spoken on the phone many times, but here you are in the flesh.
Crown explained the situation and need to to message Noon. He handed over the bag containing the Cypher and constructed a communication to read:-

Noon
Director of Operations
PRISM.
London.
Successfully delivered goods to BE Paris, They will arrange secure transport home. One person lost his way on the train. Await your instructions.
BLUE9

Thirty minutes elapsed before receiving reply, which read:-

BLUE9
BE, Paris
Well done. Look forward to delivery. Suggest you take some leave in Paris. No need to rush back.
Noon
Director of Operations
PRISM
London

Well, Lana, looks like we have official leave in Paris. I think a good meal, some entertainment and a bit of sight seeing should be our plan.
Of course. What could be better, and without interruptions this time,

FROM INDIA WITH LOVE P11 A&B FINAL Episode

For readers of this story, the previous episode involved a situation on roof of The Orient Express.
Part A
The tunnel passed and there was light. Crown lifted his head and gazed back at the distant cavern of darkness, where Azimov met his end. He cautiously stood up and made his way along the carriage roof to negotiate the steps at the rear of the train. After opening the door, he straightened his tie and brushed himself down to improve the ruffled appearance that resulted from his encounter with the Russian. He walked down the corridor to find Lana who had been waiting anxiously. She got out of her seat and smiled with relief on seeing his return.
Are you alright? What happened?
Crown sat down at the table and described the events.
Thank goodness he's gone, said Lana. I didn't know what to do. I'm so glad you're ok.
So am I, replied Crown. I'll order some drinks and have them brought to our cabin. Is Champagne ok?
Fine with me. We can sort out food later.
Crown beckoned the waiter and placed the order. He then held Lana's arm and pulled her towards him. He kissed her tenderly on the lips. You're the most important part of my life and I want you to know that.
I do know, she replied. I feel the same about you.
They left their seats and slowly walked back to the compartment. Occasionally stopping to embrace and feel the love permeate through the attachment of their bodies. Lana opened the door and grabbed Crown's hand, pulling him towards the bed that was so welcoming.
What took you so long? said the voice. There is a gun pointing at you, so don't try anything.
Crown and Lana gazed with shock in the direction of the chair where the glint of gun metal caught their eyes. You didn't think that I'd fall for that trick on the roof, did you? When you suddenly lay down, I did the same thing and when the train entered the tunnel, I slowly crawled to the end of the carriage nearest me. I waited till we were clear and you had disappeared from view. The old carriage doors have pull down windows, and I re entered that way. I knew which cabin was yours. I was next door. My special key did the rest.
What are you going to do now? asked Crown.
Well, soon we will be arriving in Paris, and I will depart with the Cypher and the woman. You, Mr Crown won't. She will be ok as long as you do as you're told, and you can start by very slowly removing your gun. Place it on the floor. Any sudden movement and she gets it, right?
Crown did as instructed.
Now we can all relax, said Asimov.
There was a knock at the door. You can answer it Crown, but no tricks or she gets it.
I've got your drinks sir, said the waiter. A bottle of Champagne was positioned in a bucket of ice, with two glasses, and situated on a portable trolley.
Oh good, said Crown. Bring it in.
Shall I pour it for you sir?
No. That's fine.
Thank you sir.
The door closed and Crown sat beside Lana. Only two glasses, I'm afraid, said Crown. You'll just have to watch.
Very funny, said Asimov. That'll be your last drink. You realise that. Now, in about thirty minutes time we will approach Paris, and you, Mr Crown, will receive A bullet through the heart. I am an expert shot and that's why I am number one in the SEF. You thought you could outsmart me, but I have dealt with many secret service agents and you are no different. To retrieve the Cypher will get me much praise, and to kill a British agent, even more kudos.
Well, said Crown. Do you object to me having a last drink?
Go ahead. But this gun is ready and I won't miss.
Crown stood up and opened the bottle. He poured two drinks and passed one to Lana who looked nervously up at him. He gazed at her and with eye movement only, looked down at the gun on the floor and then back at her, hoping she would get the message.Lana spoke to try and gain a fraction of attention from Asimov.
What will you do with me?

Part B follows shortly

ROSWELL. 75th anniversary.

Considered the most famous UFO incident, happened in Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947.
Witnesses saw saucer shaped craft crash near their town. Bodies also found. Military retrieved craft etc and took it to local military base. Newspapers said flying saucer crashed in Roswell. Next news said that it was a weather balloon. At base, according to army guy who was there at time, he was told to do photo shoot for press and find some material that resembled weather balloon. The subsequent photo that appeared in papers was concocted to try to substantiate the military's claim.
The actual craft was apparently taken to Wright Patterson air force base and placed in hangar.
The US government still maintains it was a weather balloon.
This incident was the start of many cover ups by government. It lead to the creation of the Majestic 12. They were selected to look into UFOs and report.
They decided best policy is to be secretive and cover up. Men in black became conspicuous in their attempts to silence witnesses of alien craft.
A clamp down on any organisation that promoted the existence of UFOs was the policy.

SPACE KNOWLEDGE OF WOMEN ATTRACTIVE

Why is it that I find women attractive who show a knowledge of outer space and who are excited about the science of new discoveries?
Is it because they are the intelligent members of the human race, and they know the importance of such a subject?
Is it because they are the real thinkers and make other topics insignificant?
Perhaps you can explain this feeling.
