Trick Or Treat

With Halloween around the corner, will there be trick or treating in your area ?

We don't celebrate it much here but we have a yearly pumpkin carving contest in the company. I won last year's contest so it's kinda tough carving something more interesting for this year's entry. I finished one last night, not too bad, not expecting to win again but had fun carving and slicing my fingers last night. Not a good idea to drink alcohol while carving pumpkin! Winner will be announced this Friday. dancing

Happy Monday !

How To Survive The Apocalypse ?

Things don't look good from my part of the world here, neither the rest of the world!

8,597,407 current Covid-19 cases and soaring, pope endorsing same sex unions, messy US elections, wars, occupations, hurricanes, floods, fires, terrorisms, many psychos going nuts all over the world and many many more shites going on, the entire world is so f*cked up.

I've watched TWD up to Season 7, Outbreak, Virus and other end of the world movies , more than enough to educate me on how to be prepared for the apocalypse.

They say get out of the city as soon as you can, with collapsed economy and useless government, supermarkets and food suppliers will be looted, find a quiet place near some water source and with fertile lands so you can plant and become self reliant. I'm surrounded by desserts here, f*ck!!! closest source of water to me is the Dead Sea, too salty for the fish to survive so I guess, I won't be going anywhere else.

First sensible thing to do is hoard bottled waters and foods, canned, dehydrated foods , pulses , medicines, yes some Xanax would be handy, disinfectant, sterile wipes and lots of tissues ??? Good thing, I've started collecting some this.

A couple of days ago, I found myself submerging some carrots in the water, hoping to see some roots in the next few days or so. I'm planning to plant them in a big pot so I will at least have my own source of carrots when the supply finally runs out. I'm thinking maybe I can plant some potatoes in the big pots too ? I'm getting some herbs this weekend and some bok choy cabbage & tomatoes would be nice. I have a little place here with good access to sunlight so I think it's time to use it wisely.

I have yet to prepare a bug out bag. I was checking online on what essentials should be in my bug out bag and below are what they listed :
Water, Water treatment method: Such as a filter, water purification tabs, etc.
Tent or tarp or sleeping bag, survival food such as protein bars or MREs, some canned foods
matches stored in a water proof container, first aid kit
Self-defense weapon, have no firearms but I have pepperspray and some kitchen knives so I will be armed to the teeth. Hygiene kit, change of clothes, rain jacket, boots, paracord and ropes, heavy duty gloves, face mask, Emergency light, flashlight, chemical lights…
Cash: At least $50 is recommended
Compass and maps , I have a messed up sense of direction so I don't think this would help me.
Survival stove and cook set, folding shovel, trash bags, spare batteries, duck tape
Charging kit, best would be the portable solar power bank. and some cards for entertainment

Just thinking of those listed items, I can already feel the heavy weight of my bug out bagfrustrated

well another survivalist recommended condoms, lots of it, featherweight, ultracompact and durable, condoms (nonlubricated, please) can be used as a makeshift canteen to store water, a fire starter or as elastic bands for an improvised slingshot to hunt small gamelaugh

Better to be prepared than sorry moping

Any other suggestions ?hmmm

Bruce

I'm not quite sure what to write here, I guess I'm looking for some comfort.

My heart is breaking, I would do so much to hear his annoying noises again.

I was hysterical and still crying my heart out .

It's night time here, I haven't buried him yet but the house already feels empty and lonely.

I would miss his loud noises that wake me up everyday and his welcome when I come home from work at night.

I love you, Bruce . I will miss you so terribly.

What Does It Take To Make You Laugh ?

Humor is very important in our life. A person with a lively sense of humor who can laugh at himself/herself and at just about anything is insightful and healthier in a lot of respect. Humor can free us from our inhibitions…can relieve the anxieties we feel in our day to day existence.

Our sense of humor differ from one another. What I may find funny may not be funny to you and vice versa. I can laugh at myself, always see the fun side of things first but I can also take someone’s humor seriously if it’s something that degrade and put others down. The things that we can laugh at tells what kind of personality we have…it shows our flexibility, sarcasm, cheerfulness, irritability, impulsiveness, carelessness, enthusiasm, sensitivity and outlook in life.

I’m not afraid to let my hair down…humor helps me a lot in solving my problems and turning a day into a positive and productive one and most of all, make a stronger better person in me. My sense of humor can be funny, witty, sexy, a little dirty, a little philosophical…depends with whom I’m having a banter and laughing with. I surely won’t crack a dirty joke if I’m within hearing distance from nuns and preachers so it’s about being sensitive with the people around you that could turn a joke into something very funny and successfully make everyone laugh in a healthy waylaugh rolling on the floor laughing

Here on blogs, it’s very difficult to make everyone laugh. It takes a long time to recognize each others’ humor. Those who have come to know me a little are the ones who tend to find something in common to laugh with me…thus they join the fun banter on my blogs and we end up sharing some laughs and gigglesgiggle giggle laugh …while others are raising their eyebrows and consider us “sick” and in need of education.scold professor Well, welcome to the Blogland!yay

Why is it difficult for others to see the fun side of things and laugh? I believe we’re all born with loads of sense of humor but many loses it along the way. How often do you make people around laugh ? Can you laugh at yourself ?dunno

Just For Laughs :

A man falling from a cliff grabs a protruding root. Hanging in midair, he cries to heaven: ''Is anyone out there?''
A voice responds: ''Yes, my son. Let go and I will bear thee up.''
The man hesitates, then cries out: ''Anyone else?''

A husband exclaims to his wife one day, "Your butt is getting really big. It's bigger than the BBQ grill!" Later that night in bed, the husband makes some advances towards his wife who completely brushes him off. "What's wrong?" he asks. She answers, "Do you really think I'm going to fire up this big-a** grill for one little weenie?"

My Covid-19 Blog

Hello lovers!

So many blogs about this famous virus so I decided to just post one of my own.

March 2, we had our first case here in Jordan
government took extreme measures in order to protect us.
launched awareness campaign
halted travel to/from different countries . Thousands of passengers from the last few planes that landed here were taken straight to quarantine areas - 5 star hotels for 14 days.
suspended tourist travels. I had to cancel my trips.
March 10, halted all educational institutions operations, public and private sectors closed down, started working from home
March 17, implemented our National Defense Law, total lockdown.
March 22, the government allowed Gas and Water deliveries
March 23, the government allowed doorstep deliveries of water, bread, and baby formula
March 24, small neighborhood grocery and convenience stores along with pharmacies, drinking-water stores and bakeries were allowed to open from 10:00 to 18:00 .on foot only to get basic supplies; vehicles are still not permitted.
Thursday till Sunday morning, no one allowed to go outside.

425 total cases down to 165 active cases, 7 deaths.

Things here look very promising and could go back to normal soon.

Our government acted early and able to control the spread so yes, I believe the quarantine, lockdown are helping...

meanwhile...

I'm working from home for more than a month now. The company decided to make some golden hand sanitizer so we are busy and still in business, very grateful for that, many out there are losing their job.

this lockdown thingy keeps me grounded and brought me closer to loved ones and old friends. From a distance I'm able to organize a group of young people back home to do something for our small community and help the most needy there. Sent some help to buy sacks of rice and groceries to give to the poorest of poor. Also able to give back to my beloved old convent school, with my classmates, we were able to raise some funds to give to our sisters in need and some of our mentors then. Feels good!

Somehow this virus is doing us a lot of good, we sit back, reflect and realize the most important things in life.

Be well and stay safe everyone!

My Ideal Valentine's Day

I'm obviously alone and working herelaugh

My jerk woke me up with nice Valentine greeting and virtual kisses, all I can have for Valentine's day. Though I have some dinner date invitations, I prefer to stay home and work ...and here I am, blogging!

If I'm with him , I would be up early preparing yummy breakfast, then bake some red velvet cake, heart-shaped, for our evening time in front of the TV. We will more likely go out to nice restaurant for dinner, then go for a short walk. Back home, we will be cuddling on the sofa watching movies then we will have some cake, fruits, chocolates and wine. My hands will be roaming all over him, I can touch anything else but I won't be allowed to unbuckle his belt if he's watching cricketlaugh That's the kind of Valentine's Day I would have if he's around but not today. I'm here in Jordan , working and blogging at the same time, he's somewhere else having a beer and pizza watching cricket.sigh

Single life is OK but life is so much more meaningful with a lover and loved ones around us.heart beating

just my way of saying hi...laugh

I forgot how post youtube videos, can someone please upload " Love Stinks"sigh

You're Fighting for your life and neighbors are simply watching and listening...

The place I used to call a safe haven has been invaded by sickos. That night I posted the surrogate blog, I got attacked right in front of my door at around 3 am. The sicko followed me, I felt I was being followed on he stairs but every time I paused and observed he stayed quiet and hid. I reached the 3rd floor and I was about to unlock my door when he suddenly came from behind and covered my mouth. I immediately took out the key from my door and hold tightly to it, thinking I would be defenseless and hopeless if he manage to get inside my place. I struggled and pushed to reach my neighbors door, I couldn't scream but managed to knocked hard on their doors, my knuckles are still raw! I scratched, elbowed him, bit him, kicked him, twisted till we were wrestling on the floor. When he held my jaw and tilted my head , I thought he was going to slit my throat, for a moment there, I thought that was my endlaugh I let out loud screams and luckily he let go and run away. It was no robbery, he didn't take anything, I was holding my phone and had my computer bag .

Got inside my apartment and locked door, called relatives and friends who are still working in the office. They immediately came, went around to check the area and called the police men who came quickly. I just want the whole thing to go away quietly but police procedures are seem to be very complicated and mysterious, something that I don't want to go through again. Even in the middle of the night they come to get more info and investigate.

Camera from neighborhood were checked, neighbors mentioned that they noticed a strange car parking near my apartment between 1-3 am for few nights so police are doing surveillance late at night here trying to find that car, I'll doubt they'll come back here but I'm staying home till I feel good enough to go out.

I'm a toughie but listening to my neighbors admitting they heard the commotion and me screaming outside their door but too scared to help makes me feel so down. I opened my door to my neighbors late at night a few times...I would still do that if they would need my help.sigh
