The Breakup

Actions carried out upon breakup: Delete photos, text, phone number, cut off any communication. Did they even ever exist? How do you handle it when the one you cared for is no longer in your life? Do you keep all the said above and wait for them to contact you again, giving you some kind of hope? How do you grieve? What actions do you take? Chalk it off to another one bites the dust and it's experience gained for the next relationship? How each of us handles a breakup is different. For me, I get everything that reminds me of them out of my life. I let it go. I cry, I evaluate the whole relationship and try to learn from it so I don't repeat past mistakes.....then I try to keep my heart open for the next that might come along. crying

Melania Trump "Hottest First Lady!"

All this talk about our new President Elect Trump and I haven't heard a lot of talk concerning our new First Lady, Melania Trump.

I was at work the other day and taking a break, sitting beside an elderly gentlemen that works there. I had sparked a conversation with him concerning the election because he's not one of those with his head stuck in his phone. laugh I didn't wanna be rude. So, I asked him what did he think about the outcome of the election and he starts just a talking. laugh Of course, I hear what I've heard from everybody else concerning hopeful change and this and that and blah blah blah blah blah blah . I feel the same way. I could hear and see the anger in him regarding the protesting that was going on. But, then out of the blue, his little eyes just light up and he turns and looks at me and out of his mouth I hear these words, "Hey, have you seen our new First Lady? SHE IS HOT!"

I lost it laughing. His face said it all. laugh It was so innocent and sweet. I could see how proud he was to have Melania Trump as our first lady.

I hope that Melania Trump turns out to be a good first lady. I have to wonder did Donald ask her what she thought about him running for President and if he won, was she willing to take on the responsibilities as our new first lady. I think that their family is up for some major changes in life. Look what has happened to Trump Tower in the last few days.

I wish her well. I think that she will have a major adjustment period, alongside President Trump, in the next year. It will all be interesting to see how their family adjusts under their new titles.

So sorry!laugh Had no idea that they hadn't shown it in Europe yet. One of the ladies from here sent me an email and told me. I didn't mean to spoil it for anybody. laugh tongue

Well, for those of you that like it, it is an excellent episode. I can't believe that Europe doesn't get to watch it until later. When is it coming on in your country?

Shine's Historical Adventure for Today

I've been out exploring the area that I live in. I pass by this old house quite a bit but I never knew the history behind it. This house is sooooo different from any of the houses in our area. You can tell at one time that this place was grand. It looks out over beautiful pastures everywhere in the middle of Fancy Gap, Va. I noticed the other day when passing by that they have the house lifted up. The historical society in our area is going to restore it. I was very interested in the history of this house and got online to research it. Come to find out this is J. Sidna Allen's house. He was part of the Carroll County Courthouse Massacre. This is BIG history among the people that are from this area. So, I am posting some links so that you might read up on it....very interesting.

Blackbeard's house

Hopefully you will find this an interesting read since it is almost Halloween. Atlantic Beach and Beaufort, NC are one of my favorite vacationing spots. I have been to visit Blackbeard's home several times. They have a haunted tour where you are walked around the town at night and they tell you all about the history and possible haunting of the area. Below is a link that tells about the history of Blackbeard's home.

One thing that I found very interesting concerning the history of these homes are the windows usually about the 3rd floor up. The loved ones of the sailors or pirates that were out to sea would be able to go up to these 3rd floor windows and look out for their loved ones. They were lookout windows! All the homes in that area have them.

Beaufort used to not have as much land. The water would come right up to the porches of these homes. One of the stories that was told to us was that Blackbeard would come in from the sea right up to his porch and tie his small boat to the porch. I try to imagine this in my mind and can't understand how the home didn't get washed away. laugh

Today was a beautiful day! My son and I took a trip to Mabry Mills off the Parkway in Virginia and then drove the Parkway to Fancy Gap and home. I love days like this!

A song for the lovers

Every once in a while I will hear a song on the TV or in a movie that just sticks with me. I'll find myself just thinking of it out of the blue.

I listen to a lot of metalcore, rock, post hardcore, but sometimes other genre's of music produce that song that holds onto me.

Last year I got hooked on a show called, "Nashville". Yeah, I know, it shocked me, too. laugh But it has a good story line and I really enjoy listening to some of the songs that they sing.

This is one of those songs that touched me deep inside. I love the lyrics. It's a beautiful love song.

Please listen, if you will. I hope you enjoy it.

Put the phones down!!

I go outside to take a break at work today, thinking that I might enjoy a quick chat while enjoying my cigarette. Five people were sitting at the table with their phones in their face. I sat down at the same table as them and nobody so much as looked up. I started checking my phone (really reading blogs on CS) and sat there for 15 minutes and nobody ever acknowledged me or said a word to anyone else. Finally after I finish my cigarette I got up and went inside and back to work.

There used to be a time when taking break was fun. It was a time for you to chat with your work friends or complain about something going on. I would enjoy talking about my family and pets and hear the other people talk about theirs, plans for the week/weekend, and so on. Honestly, I think that if I had these people on Facebook and emailed them while sitting beside of them they would carry on a conversation.

Everywhere I go people are constantly on there phones. How did this world ever function without cell phones? laugh I remember, as a teenager, having to stop and use a payphone to call home if I wasn't going to be home in time. I remember everywhere I'd go people were always talking. Mind you, this is the south, people don't have to know you to talk to you here. They smile and just start talking to ya, or at least that's how it used to be.

I know it's a new generation thing that is impacting everyone now. They have the latest cell phone and the world at their fingertips. I just miss the days where people would sit down and have good, fun conversations and really get to know people, aside from what they saw on Facebook. blues
