My Question Is........
My daughter is a far left liberal, and she claims Republicans want to do away with Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. I can't find any evidence of this.I can't believe Republicans would destroy the party by doing this. And especially to talk about it right before the election.
What say you?

If the programs would ever be eliminated ( I strongly doubt ) it would be fostered in over a long very long period of time, and ultimately replaced with a more definitive funding alternative....
When the left makes accusation I ask for a HR or SB for proof! A quick search will settle the argument!
I don't know how much would be drastic to you. Entitlement reform was supposed to be a priority for them (republicans) this year. They're waiting until the mid-terms are over I imagine. Medicare will be target #1.
It's no secret that republicans have pushed for CUTS to ALL of those programs.
This isn't the 20th century anymore where people became middle class whether they were any good or not. If you just let things be then a big middle class would happen, well not anymore.
Medicare/Medicaid.....no one will touch cuts to Healthcare
Republicans will back cuts to certain programs(welfare), BUT what they actually have tried to cut is the increase in the percentage. I doubt the levels will go down but the percentage increase attributed to these programs will be diminished.
obidens 'build back better' bill and his 1.5 reconciliation will add 5 trillion to the debt alone. If it should pass it will wreck the economy....long term.
I suspect with the current perception of this already failing administration spending more for socialist programs hidden in the bill (eg. increased funding for illegal immigration, health care, jobs, soc.sec. for immigrants), will not be passed. There is so much hidden in the bill in regards to give aways and pet projects(green new deal) from the left the opposition to obidens will only grow. Some cans we can't kick down the road, but about seven of the programs in the bill shouldn't be opened either.
Do away with, no. Cut, of course.
Same with Bush's idea of privatizing Social Security.
When the market crashes goodby Social Security if its privatized.
Socialism was the Republican battle cry when Roosevelt created Social Security..
Socialism invoked again with Medicare and Medicaid.
