What Makes Jesus Unique? No one else made the claims that He did, He is alive...............

All the great religious leaders of history have one thing in common: they are dead. Only one man has risen from a grave never again to taste death. Jesus Christ died, was buried, remained in the grave for 3 days, then was raised to life again.

Jesus is unique. He is the only one proven to be the Son of God because God validated His Kingship and accepted His payment for our sins all with one incredible stroke: He raised Jesus from the dead!

Paul opens his letter to the Romans with this evidence about who Jesus is:
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, which He had promised before by His prophets in the holy scriptures, concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made of the seed of David according to the flesh, and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Romans 1:1-4

Because Jesus Christ is very much alive, five things are true right now that wouldn’t be true if He were just another dead religious leader like Confucius, Mohammed or Buddha.

Because Jesus was raised from the dead and is alive…Prayers are answered, We can talk to Jesus 24/7

A testimony....................
I became a Christian because I wanted a relationship with God that would be with me here on earth and carry me over to eternal life with Him. ...
Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see, I hope for eternal life. I'm certain that I will see God there. And that's why I became a Christian.
Testimony;
While sitting in a chapel service about a week later, a young woman from our college campus read this scripture:

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. -John 14:1-2

“If it were not so, I would have told you.”

There it was. The words of Jesus. The words of truth.

“I would have told you.”

So simple. So clear. So pure.

This scripture resounded in the depths of my very being. I knew it was true. Not with an intellectual ascent or head knowledge, but with a deep heart knowledge. The Living God had touched my mind with His Living Word. The Living Son of God, moved in me through His Living Spirit. I trusted Jesus and I trusted what He said. He would tell me if it were not true. And my spirit came alive in Christ!

I felt like I was made brand new, inside and out. A ray of shining light broke through the fog and dust that had muddled my vision. Now I could see Christ again, clearly and unhindered, in all His glory, truth and grace. Hallelujah! The God of my youth, became the God of my young adult years and has carried me through ever since.

Does this mean I never have questions, fears or misunderstandings? No, I still wonder about the nuances of my faith and God’s Word and how it will all play out in my life and in the world around me. But I have never again stood on the shifting sands of life without Christ. My feet are on the Rock and I am grateful beyond words.

Hi hplady A lot of truth to the fact that in many ways they have it easier than women.
When asked if I would not rather have been born a boy I would say; "no way would I have liked to have been born a boy here it is to the women. hug

Oh okay, there was one time, only one time that I was envious seeing boys could do something I knew I could never do. It would come in handy when in the middle of a lake and you had to go............
So that was only a few minutes that I envied boys and wished that I could do what they were able to do.
I learned later It did not weigh up to what I could do and boys would never be able to do..............give birth.
Thank you Lord for making me a girl

Hi Jenny. Went through your blog to the best of my ability. I do believe in Jesus all the way. I am mostly at the poetry corner and through the years here since 2009 have written many poems regarding my faith; I have taken down some of them as other topics too. As you know there are atheists, agnostics, and non-believers. When I write I try not to impose my beliefs and I am always inspired by the bible.
By writing, I put in my small mustard seed. Many may read or not. Others reflect or not.
I am not a professional but can say I love to share. I have learned a lot about poetry here with my poet friends and challenges to each other.
Your love for the Lord is a blessing for you and others. Thanks for sharing your knowledge here that comes from your heart. SM
Thank you for telling me this South, I have to tell you that I don't understand poetry much.
I read it once in a while and wished that I would understand it but I don't.
Yet dear sister thank you for reading my whole blog I feel honored and soon and very soon we will see the Lord!
I do hope you will keep on reading, as you could have seen in this blog I try not to be too heavy for one reason I don't have a clue who is reading here, are some non-Christians?
I want to have a large family someday................
May our Lord richly bless you abundantly dear sister.................jenny
Jenny, thanks for answering. I will come back once in a while. Keep sharing the love of God if that is your calling.
About poetry, you just have to have the inspiration. Try writing something that inspires you. There is what we call free verse which does not require rhyming. There are many forms, sonnets, Haiku, etc. There are many websites like that are free. Just as you write prose here for your blog. Give it a try you will be amazed. Blessings. SM teddybear
Hi South you must have been visiting and or leaving your own poetry here at CS
I have been there one time and as you said I was surprised to find it was not all rhyming poetry that I read
I love to write and have done so from the time I was a child...........
Our Savior has given us all a gift but do need more time to be able to do more.
Take care and you are welcome anytime..................jenny..............teddybear
I love Jesus...heart beating heart beating heart beating heart beating heart beating heart wings heart wings heart wings heart wings heart beating heart beating heart beating heart beating

I call him the one who loves...if you know what I mean ..teddybear
Yep ana I do for sure...................teddybear
God is love personified...................
We will never be able to know how deep His love is................
Our love is often shallow, we like/ love a person if he/she would only.........
I remember a long time ago that I prayed for the Lord to help me love others more.
Being a new Christian I had not yet learned to be careful what you prayed for............
I thought that if I needed more love to give that the Lord would give it to me in abundance.
Not long after a woman approached me in church and hugged me.
I have to say that I found her not very loveable...........
So I complained; Lord how...........His answer? If you are able to love those that are in your eyes not so loveable the next one will be easier to love.

Going to work I often had farmers moving their tractors on the road going to their plots.
Also large trucks as this road was close to the US border.........
Lord give me more patience, please.
Well, what did I find? More traffic on the road............
Lord.,............jenny this is how you learn to have more patience...........
So boys and girls, be careful what you pray for the Lord will answer your prayer but it may be not the
way you thought He would answer..............surprise...............laugh
That he was the only messiah to have gone down in history (at least to the extent he did)? Perhaps he truly was the real deal.
Teddy yes He is the real deal. If He was not, He would not be able to answer my prayers.
Too me it is a wonder every time to see How my prayer is answered
I invite you to read a bit at the beginning of this blog...............jenny wave
I thought you were my friend

My friend, I stand in judgment now
And feel that you're to blame somehow
While on this earth I walked with you day by day
And never did you point the way
You knew the Lord in truth and glory
But never did you tell the story
My knowledge then was very dim
You could have led me safe to him
Though we lived together here on earth
You never told me of your second birth
And now I stand this day condemned
Because you failed to mention Him
You taught me many things, that's true
I called you friend and trusted you
But now I learned, now it's too late
You could have kept me from this fate
We walked by day and talked by night
And yet you showed me not the light
You let me live, love and die
And all the while you knew I'd never live on high
Yes, I called you friend in life
And trusted you in joy and strife
Yet in coming to this end
I see you really weren't my friend

Jenny, you are clear with your recent comments about dating a non-believer. There are times we do not want to give up on a guy, believing he can convert to our own faith. My pastor was converted by dating his actual wife and has been married for more than 30 years.
Everything has a time setting and it is your decision to make the right choice and seek guidance with the Lord about it. SM teddybear
Hi Jenny this is very good, why don't you post it on the poetry corner. So much truth in these words. SM
The Old Rugged Cross

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross
The emblem of suffering and shame
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross (rugged cross)
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
To the old rugged cross I will ever be true
It's shame and reproach gladly bear
Then he'll call me some day to my home far away
Where his glory forever I'll share
And I'll cherish the old rugged cross (rugged cross)
Till my trophies at last I lay down
And I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown

What Is the Difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?
Dr. David Jeremiah

What Is the Difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions I hear about prophecy. The Rapture and the Second Coming are often confused, but they are two distinct events on God’s prophecy timeline.

First, the Rapture is when Christ comes back and takes every Christian that is still on this earth and resurrects all of those who have died and takes them to heaven with Him. Paul is talking about the Rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 where he writes: “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

The Rapture is God’s protection of His saints from the Tribulation—the seven years of judgment that will then be poured out on earth. There are some who argue the Tribulation period will begin before the Rapture. However, the Bible says that “there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1), and I believe the Church will not experience the judgment that God has planned for that time.

Finally, at the end of the seven years, the Bible says Jesus comes back. This is His Second Coming. This time He comes to earth not as a humble child but as the powerful and glorious King of the universe, surrounded by all of His saints. He will gain victory at Armageddon and establish His kingdom on earth.

In short, here are some succinct differences to remember about the two events:

At the Rapture, Jesus comes for His saints. At the Second Coming He comes with His saints.

At the Rapture Jesus doesn’t come all the way to earth. At the Second Coming, His feet touch down on the Mount of Olives and He will reign on earth.

At the Rapture, Jesus comes with a blessing for His saints. At the Second Coming He brings judgment for those who have rejected Him.

The Rapture can happen at any moment, but we know the Second Coming happens seven years later.
so let us heed the call to the church in the Book of Revelation to hold fast to our faith in all circumstances.
Jesus continually tells us that we should be ready because he will come at an hour we do not know and do not expect. Our lives could end at any time or he could return at any time, so let us remain faithful and remind others of this important truth.
You can see in the last two articles that there are those believing that all Christians will be escaping those 7 years and be raptured and there are those who believe the opposite.
I lean more to the last that all Christians will be going through those 7 years of tribulation

Jesus was unique because he was able to demonstrate the ability to vertically take off. So he must have been supplied with a jet pack. These are only recent inventions. He also had the ability to turn water into wine. If he was here now, he would have made a fortune cheers
Hi Grand, Sorry the Lord does not do many miracles anymore because we now have His written word the Bible.,
A famous German writer, Kurt Koch. was visiting Indonesia when he was told that some water had turned into wine. Kurt was skeptical but believed the people had indeed experienced a miracle.
One lady was given a little red Bible by the missionaries but like most of the people there she was unable to read.
She soon discovered she could read that Bible but nothing else.............
Why did the people experience this there because most were illiterate?
I know what you are thinking now why. why, not, Yes I hear you ............
I have found abound miracles that happened in New Guinea too.

It is okay to be skeptical Grand as we live in that kind of a world today where so many are cynical.
Keep an open mind okay?

A "mysterious voice" led rescuers to find child who survived for 14 hours in submerged car.
Icy StreamShutterstock.com
In March 2015, Lynn Jennifer Groesbeck, 25, lost control of her car and landed in the icy Spanish Fork River in Utah.

Fourteen hours later, first responders found her 18-month-old daughter, Lily, in her car seat hanging upside down just above frigid river water.

Prior to finding Lily, both police officers and firefighters report that they heard an adult voice yell "Help me!" from inside the car.

They discovered that the voice could not have come from the young mother, who likely died from the impact.

The rescuers still can’t explain the voice or how the girl survived hanging upside-down for 14 hours in freezing temperatures without being dressed for the cold.

Gardell Martin, 22-months-old, was playing with his siblings outside his parents’ home in Mifflinburg, PN, in March 2015 when he fell into a gushing creek with 34-degree water.

Gardell was found a quarter of a mile away by a neighbor, unconscious and without a pulse. Emergency personnel were called to the scene and immediately began performing CPR, which continued uninterrupted for 101 minutes as they transported him via an ambulance and a helicopter to a hospital.

His body's temperature upon arrival was 77-degrees, well below the normal temperature of 98.6-degrees. After doctors gradually warmed the boy over 24 hours—he remarkably woke up without any apparent signs of neurological damage.

How was your day, Is anything needed to bring on a smile?

I was in the six item express lane at the store quietly fuming.
Completely ignoring the sign, the woman ahead of me had slipped into the check-out line pushing a cart piled high with groceries. Imagine my delight when the cashier beckoned the woman to come forward looked into the cart and asked sweetly, "So which six items would you like to buy?"
Wouldn't it be great if that happened more often?

Because they had no reservations at a busy restaurant, my elderly neighbor and his wife were told there would be a 45 minute wait for a table.
"Young man, we're both 90 years old," the husband said. "We may not have 45 minutes."
They were seated immediately.

The reason Politicians try so hard to get re-elected is that they would "hate" to have to make a living under the laws they have passed.

Three friends from the local congregation were asked, "When you're in your casket, and friends and congregation members are mourning over you, what would you like them to say?"
Artie said, "I would like them to say I was a wonderful husband, a fine spiritual leader, and a great family man."
Eugene commented, "I would like them to say I was a wonderful teacher and servant of God who made a huge difference in people's lives.."
Al said, "I'd like them to say, 'Look, he's moving!'"

Smith climbs to the top of Mt. Sinai to get close enough to talk to God.
Looking up, he asks the Lord. "God, what does a million years mean to you?"
The Lord replies, "A minute."
Smith asks, "And what does a million dollars mean to you?"
The Lord replies, "A penny."
Smith asks, "Can I have a penny?"
The Lord replies, "In a minute."
A friend from church was in the hospital. I went to visit him and when leaving his room, I saw a man standing in the doorway of the room next door to my friend’s room. He beckoned to me and it was clear, he needed to talk to someone. He told me that he had cancer, and might have to have an operation.

He said that he was very scared. I asked him if he was a Christian. He said that he was not. I told him that I cared what happened to him.

He wanted to know, why I would care, as I did not know him at all. I said that I cared because God cared. He then told me that his sister had been talking to him about God, but that he could not stand to listen to her about it. He said that he didn't mind hearing it from me though.

I gave him the gospel of John that day, as it also had the sinner’s prayer in the back of this booklet.

Later I went back to see him, and he told me that he had been praying to the Lord.

I asked him if he wanted to meet the Lord, and he said that he would and we prayed.

He was no sooner saved than he became an instant missionary.

He told me that he had witnessed to his wife, and she accepted the Lord also.

I had given my new brother in the Lord my phone number.

A few weeks later the wife phoned to tell me that her husband was dying, and would I come to the hospital.

The doctors had decided not to operate anymore, as his cancer was too advanced. That same night my new friend died.

I know that I will one day also meet him again.
I had gone to church one evening with friends when we decided to stop at Denny’s. It had been a great meeting and we were still excited about it. I could not help to notice a young boy, a teenager, sitting at the next table. He kept looking at us.

Finally, he said; “Church can’t be that bad if it can leave you so happy.”

I gave him my phone number and asked him to call me if he wanted to do so, and I would tell him more about the church.

He called me and soon gave his heart to the Lord. I found out that David had lived on the street and had not had a good life so far.
Today he is a happily married man. Yes, the Lord works through people...................... cheering
My dentist found it sometimes difficult to work on my mouth he would tell me that I had such a small mouth. I told him that this was not what my mother called it. One of my nick-names was Jenny; “big-mouth.” 0nly said by my mother...................

You see the Lord can use everyone and everything for His good. Even my mouth!

We were standing at the time clock waiting for four o'clock so we could sign out, and go home. I could not help overhearing when one of the men I worked with, was mentioning the name of Jesus in a derogatory way, several times in one sentence. I finally could not stand to listen to that anymore, and said to him; "I hear that you know Him too."
Surprised the man said to me; "Know who?" "Jesus” I said; “I heard you mentioning His name several times.”

I love to shock people it will make them think.
In the grocery store, you can easily find someone that will complain about the high cost of food.
Because misery loves company, you whole-heartedly agree with them.
Tell the person that you are sure that it will get worse. Agreeing with you is assured at this point.
I will then tell them, that I won't need to worry as I have a very rich father.
On their faces you can read the surprise, of course their faces say, then it is no wonder you don't worry, if you have a rich father.

“Yes ma’am,” is my reply, as I look up!
Amen Jenny. I believe He is alive and is with us.
Lindsey, yes he is alive thus is able to hear and answer our prayers I often get answers and it is always such a good feeling to know He is with you all the time

All my stories are true experiences..........
I had planned to stop this blog about a year ago but hplady told me to keep going.
Well as long as people keep reading I will continue..........................jenny

At work there was a man who loved to debate with me, about things pertaining to God.
One day I could tell he had a good argument for me, or so he thought.
As soon as it was time for our coffee break, he came out with it.
He asked me if I knew that Jesus had really been nailed to a tree.

"Is that so? Well did you know that you are sitting on a tree?" he happened to sit on a wooden chair. I think he got it..................wave
Yes I read that part, too. I'll keep reading. Good you decided to keep going.
It happened at work in a store in Inglewood, L.A. an all black neighbourhood.

In the afternoon, I overheard one of the men saying to another man, to go to hell. I walked over to them and asked the one who had sent the other to hell, why he had wished the other man to go to hell. Surprised, he did not know what to say, so I said it for him; "Because you don't like him right?"

Almost grateful to now have the answer, he nodded his head. "Well, I said; “Maybe next time, you should wish him to go to heaven, then at least the two of you, will be separated.”

Unbeknown to me, the late night man or boy really, had come in and he had overheard everything. He asked me if he could ask me some questions.

He said he was really afraid to do so as he was thinking it might take away from my faith.

How sweet of him to be so concerned for me while he needed answers for him self.

I assured him not to worry about me, as I myself had been having many questions. Besides I told him, someone had to answer your questions.

He had many sincere questions and kept needing, reassurance that I would not lose my faith, if he asked them. I answered him as best as I could and promised him a book to read. The next day I gave him; "The Rapture".

In those days I was send from store to store but I did not work in that particular store again. I wanted my book back as I couldn't buy another one it was now out of print.

About four weeks after I had lent out my book, I saw him on the parking lot with a few friends. I decided not to say anything, as I did not want to embarrass him in front of them. Not to worry, the moment he saw me he said; “Hello Jenny, I still have your book.” I told him that I knew, and if he wanted to read another book. Eyes large as saucers he said; "Oh no,” I want to read it all again, 'cause it is blowing my mind!”

This in an accent, that only a Los Angeles, black man can do! Priceless!

I know that I will meet that brother again on the other side and the friends he had with him that day, were also Christians.

And by the way, keep the book!

This is one of my favorites, you had to hear this man's voice in that accents only black people have
I may not be comfortable for self preservation but after realizing that it came from my Lord, I'd do anything. bouquet
Thank you Linsay............When the Bible says; "When you hear rumors of war" ................is this what is talked about here? I believe we are living in the end times............has it arrived?............We are getting close that I believe. l
Is it not amazing that WE are that generation being a witness to it?
How often did I hear in the past pastors saying; "Lord Jesus come quickly"
Indeed Jenny. I'm praying for the atonement of my sins bouquet
