Model Helicopter Smackdown...
On Saturday morning I attended a Heli-Smack-Fest in South Miami.It was a 3-day multi-fest that included competition, sport flying and exhibition stunt flying where some of the best pilots were in attendance.
All of the top flyers were sponsored by hobby manufacturers so you can see groups of them in team shirts and hats advertising the products they fly.
I got up close (30 feet) to one guy's flight. He is regarded the best in the world and many of his maneuvers were so fast I couldn't figure them out as his helicopter flew by at over 90 miles per hour!
I rated him as the 'Eddie Van Halen of Helicopters'
