Rear window louvers...
Many years ago, I was able to purchase rear window louvers for my cars. Some were factory louvers installed by the dealers and some were after market add-ons.I cannot find them now and I'm not sure who they disappeared.
One YouTube video has a different explanation why they are no longer available, but I didn't agree with that one and I'm thinking maybe they were a hazard if incorrectly installed, so insurance companies banned them.
The ones I had were anodized black aluminum with safety clips for removal and cleaning the glass. I recall there was an 'inside the car variety' sold in auto parts stores... They're gone too!
Summer in South Florida is brutal and the hottest my car has registered this month was 113 degrees F. so, I'm looking to buy some louvers.
For now, there are stick on window shades made from perforated plastic that is white facing out and black facing in. It restricts vision so I'm debating to use them or not.
I checked Amazon and a few car places and the only loivers I found were old inventory for some American sports cars that were never sold. Unless I could get dimensions or actually test fit to see if they work for my car, I'm reluctant to buy something that's non-refundable.
My quest for a rear louver goes on...

My car has only reached 98 degrees so far this summer.
Maybe try using two of the blinds that are used in the back windows to keep babies out of the sun....
I never liked the looks of the louvers on cars....

The problem with tinting is difficulty seeing at night, it only lasts a few years before the bubbles appear and the glass gets hotter having tint on it.
I'm still looking around for external louvers... possibly a generic short style would work.
Nothing yet on the interior variety.
$130 for some that fit a Dodge charger. Maybe one that fits a VW with curved glass could be modified slightly.
Something like this would be perfect:
I had the windows in my home tinted too. They have not bubbled yet either. I sure hope they do not....
As for window tinting making it harder to see driving at night, I am old now, my night vision is not what it used to be...It’s not the tinting...It is part of getting old.
My girlfriends and I joke about how we get home before dark...I am fine driving at night if I am familiar with the roads...it is driving on roads I am not familiar with that I dread....
Good luck finding your louvers....
In 1973, I bought some metallic window tint and installed on my Honda car.
Do it yourself kit with a spray bottle, squeegee and special liquid adhesive you added a drop to distilled water. Also, there was a brush-on sealer for the edges that came in a bottle like nail polish.
The windows in my condo that face the west were tinted long before I bought the place and blistered and faded. I've got white polystyrene insulation panels covering them between the glass and mini-blinds.
I had the hurricane windows installed when I built this time in lieu of the metal shutters...It was nice to be able to see out and watch the wind and rain as Ian went through....
had black louver over the back window... came in very handy when I moved to the south. Hot summers and no AC in that car.

I had a Nissan Sentra Hatchback with louvers and my wife had a 200SX Hatchback with louvers.
Somewhere along the way we had a Nissan Pulsar sedan that didn't have a problem with the rear window. It was only the hatchback models where the sloped back took the heat from the sun.
The Sentra looked like the photo:
