Ad blockers on YouTube...

For years I've been using an ad blocker while I surf YouTube.
Recently, I've seen a pop-up message stating:

Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube
-It looks like you may be using an ad blocker.
-Ads allow YouTube to be used by billions worldwide.
-You can go ad-free with YouTube Premium, and creators can still get paid from your subscription.

For now, I'm clicking the X in the top right, closing the warning/message and watching the video.

I realize supporting ads means money changes hands and ultimately someone benefits.
I suppose there will be a time when YouTube will refuse to play videos without membership... hopefully not anytime soon.

and they're killing you with ads!mumbling
It's all about the Benjamin. devil
The warning now comes with a timer in the top right so you have to wait to 'click out' of the message.
If you had Trump's money, you could sue them. Or the Ad Blocker Creators could use Donald's money to sue them. My guess is they are trying to send those Ad Blocker companies broke. The programs aren't illegal but i am grateful for them. On one site i was once on, they sold advertising for inside a person's profile. I went online once without the ad blocker and i almost could not navigate around my own profile there was so many ads. I have an ad blocker because if that is still happening as a general web site practice, I don't want to know simply because the longer they do it, the louder the crash. No, that's not it...
Generally though, I simply unblock for that page. I don't have to watch the ads they show. What do you think the mute button is for? Sorry, I meant to say, you don't have to listen to them. I actually sometimes try to figure out what they are saying, the way they are saying it, and how it actually physically fits in with the backing stage. The only downside of that is at some point i have to watch the ad, as it actually is and not as i imagined it.
Besides that, you don't have to buy what they are advertising, even if you need it; especially if you don't. Or out of spite you could buy it from one of their competitors. In Australia we use to call it talking with your money.
Wow, I've never watched YouTube in my life and strangely, that is not even on my bucket list of things I must do before I die. W.
