The cat...
Throw a stick, and the servile dog runs and pants and stumbles to bring it to you. Do the same before a cat, and he will eye you with a cool, polite and somewhat bored amusement.I respect the superior animal which lives its own life and knows that the stick-throwings of human bipeds are none of its business and beneath its notice.
The cat charms you into playing for its benefit when it wishes to be amused; making you rush about the room with a feather on a string when it feels like exercise, but refusing all your attempts to make it play when it is not in the mood.
That is personality and individuality and self-respect !!!
The calm mastery of a creature whose life is its own and not yours !

for your Coco and Nick
I very much admire the independance of a cat
Every pet has it's own personality and I find the stories most amusing...thank you for sharing.
Coco and Nick may not catch sticks but they must be good in other things
I used to have cats when I was still living with my parents. They were cute. Sometime I was playing with them and there was one who had never forgotten to "wave goodbye" every morning when me and my brother went to school. She was so cute.
I once spent a night at my friend's place and her cat was accompanying me to sleep and she was really cute too. I love to hear the sound when they are breathing hrrr hrrr hrrr
Long live the cats. Meeow
Dogs make very faithful pets We humans like the loyalty of the dog and admire the aloofness and independence of the cat
I always had dogs, growing up... our family cats all had a tragic end, my parents stopped replacing them
Now as an adult I simply prefer
