Randomness

1. Today I will be purchasing a guitar which always brings with it great joy for me, and no doubt great annoyance for my neighbors as I really don't sound much like the sixty year old black men I try to emulate.

2.Monday night will see me playing my old black man blues music at my friends bar which will be a lot of fun, for me at least.

3.I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoy the coffee, omelette and toast at my favorite cafe every morning. The view is great, the staff so friendly and I can lounge for hours. It really is the little things in life.

4. Think I am going to start the "Ham Diaries. Welcome to My Life". A blog of my daily life with pics and editorial. Yes, I will. I want people to see the others that share my life and the environment in which I live.

5. Notice I'm being very self absorbed. Is this a consequence of being a single man for too long? Too bad if it is, you just gave dating pal.

6. One thing that disappointed me while dating predominantly Indonesian women recently was the amount of intolerance I perceived still in society. Walking with my dates we would often get those lingering looks of confusion or disapproval from other people. Or, I felt people viewed me as some kind of sexpat roaming the streets of Bali.barf

7. I hope everyone has a day to remember today.

8. I think I have attained a new level in the category of boring blogs.

Cheers
Ham

Some BB for you Hammock

aswinuccia, amore mio, come stai?

roll eyes
Felix - THAT'S what I'm talkin' about.

10k - Not a term a coined myself, but pretty succinct in its way.

Aswina - I know. Still makes me want to stop the them and challenge them as to there narrow mindedness.
happy strumming, on the new Guitar, now you can make sweet music, guitar for the Senoritas.laugh
weeping - Thanks. Will surely be a pleasant afternoon.

aswina - We shan't let them prevail.
Ham - If they complain about the guitar, mention that you considered taking up tuba! They should consider themselves to be fortunate, indeed. laugh

I do have a spare trombone I can send... want to give it a try? dunno

Today... afternoon gig... one of the songs we played was "Blues in the Night" (also known as "My Momma Done Told Me")... perhaps you know it. Here's Cab Calloway... (these old recordings are real treasure!)

inthemind - Thanks, that's brilliant. Just look at the charisma and charm these guys exude, not to mention that big band sound. Great musicians playing great music.
explorer - thanks for that. I was once fooled into believing what society had conditioned me with, like many others, but incredibly miserable. Selling up at forty and leaving myself open to the way of the wind really has improved my quality of life and made me understand what is important to me - the little things.
sleep sleep sleep boring? nnnnnooooo what makes you say that? rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing just kidding you, i love the blues and if i lived closer i go check you outapplause
Brazil - I put myself to sleep some times.
I go to a Pentecostal church and our praise music is? The blues!

I jam for Jesus on the Congas and other percussion instruments and our Pastor is the lead singer! Our lead guitar player is also a pastor and a professor of theology!

So, my brother, too bad I'm not in Bali so we could jam together!

PS: I get a lot of funny looks too with the women I date and the women I don't date but accompany to events. One of the most hilarious examples is when I go with one of my daughters out to eat. People think this old codger is hitting on some young babe and we get a big laugh from those that become vocal about it! Yeah, they do say some pretty mean and stupid things but who cares!
Ham - "I'd wile away the hours... my head I'd be scratchin' while my thoughts were busy hatchin' ... if I only had a brain"

Whenever I see people who are so quick to judge (and so slow to think), this song from The Wizard of Oz comes to mind. dancing cool
It surprises me there isn't more focus given to perception and the like in education before you decide to do your sociology degree.

Please correct me if it is the case.

Great line from a great film, itm.

lachi - Wow, you have been busy today, thanks for the detailed reply. Sadly I have to wait for my guitar. I had organized a car and driver to go down to Denpasar to get it but he cancelled. That's how it is here sometimes. I might just ride down myself in the morning.
