for millions around the world he was the best, during the late late 50's and 60's.
Even in the 70's he was singing to packed audiences in Las Vegas night after night.
this was long after he stopped recording songs.
I agree that he was just a very very actor, but back then women would flock to the cinemas just to watch him.
His voice was so unique.
If memory serves me correctly, i think i read or heard that he was a white man with a black mans voice....no racial slur intended.
His voice was so different at the time.

The Hype around Elvis was huge though...all those u mention did say that he even influenced them in some small way...
