Top 5 Biscuits
In at number 5, the 'Jammy Dodger' - no biscuit tin should be without this timeless classic....Number 4 is a winner year on year. The 'Malted Milk' is much more subtle than its jammy cousin and simply HAD TO be included for its irresistible dunking qualities. The dunk time on this little beauty is pretty short, no more than 3 or 4 seconds are recommended - you don't want to lose biscuit integrity now, do you?*
Number 3 is a much neglected biscuit, all too often overlooked by biscuit connoisseurs. This one made it into the top 3 for it's crumbly biscuit quality and creamy lemon filling. A biscuit to be eaten in moderation (due to its richness) and a real treat. Introducing, the 'Lemon Puff'.
It's time for number 2, we're really getting down to it now. I know, I know - the excitement is getting unbearable. Like the malted milk, this one's an excellent dunker. The dunk time is a little higher for this one, owing to it's glazed surface. Up to 10 seconds is doable without any adverse sagging or breaking up.* An all -time, raisin encrusted classic. Ladies and Gentleman, the 'Garibaldi'.
The moment of truth. This biscuit simply demanded number 1 spot. And needs no introduction. Okay, okay, I'm still going to give it an introduction: The mighty, the meaty, the nourishingly delicious, bowel regulating beauty that is.... The 'Fig Roll'.
*All dunk times are based on a piping hot, milked, cup of tea.
