A Kiss From a Rose
I have a friend who.....(this isn't one of those 'I have a friend' stories where I'm actually talking about myself, by the way)
I have a friend who.... genuinely, unashamedly, non-ironically believes that 'Kiss From a Rose' by Seal is one of the best and most beautiful songs ever recorded.
Music / musical taste is subjective, bla bla bla..... but NO! This song is objectively bad! The friend in question has good musical taste generally. I just can't make him see the light...
How can I convince him? Thoughts? Opinions?

But most ppl can't differentiate between personal preference and what has merit so make emotive judgments rather than saying for example, I don't like Eminem but his musical merrit is undisputed.
Bit like cooking. Amateur cooks go....I don't like the taste of x therefore I won't serve it. Prof cooks go....this is what the public likes and wants.
Ah well with time people learn or they fall into the 'i like everything' pool when asked about their musical 'tastes'
