Why Indaina is the best place to live

I have lived in many different places California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Tennessee, Florida, Arizona, Illinois, Indiana and Nevada. I have also visited many places like here in Germany.

What I think about when I think of Indiana is a place that is abundant in nature and outdoor activities like hunting fishing and camping and has culture in places like Indianapolis. The town I love best is Terre Haute because it has the amenities of a big town with a small town attitude. Maybe thats what John Cougar was talking about in his song Small Town

Indiana also enjoys a strong economy with a lot of manufacturing jobs along with agricultural jobs.

The weather is moderate with 2 month of really cold weather in the winter Jan and Feb and 2 months of hot weather which starts late June and ends by late August.

Most of the people in Indiana are sociable and it's not uncommon to have a lengthily conversation with a stranger there. "So if you ask someone how they are doing, make sure you really want to know LOL" The phrase Hosier Hospitality isn't a misnomer.

Yes it has it's draw backs like any other place but I miss it.

My favorite place is right here where I live now. I have rented a small house only for me, I can put on my shoes and walk directly into the forest where I can find places to hike, fish, camp and just hang out if I want to. My place if filled with wonderful nature and you can fish, hike an bike. It is in fact a very wonderful place to live and I would not move at all. My son, my daughter in law, and my grandkids live about 35 minutes away from me, and I just use my car to get to them. I live in a nature paradise and will not want to trade it for anything. I'm doing swell, I can not get it any better, and the big city's has never attracted me, I in fact hate them and the stress they gain in you life. At least in my eyes...hug teddybear hug
My favorite place is where there's fishing and lots of it! But wintertime brings me back to Southern California!

I lived in San Berdo, Crestline and Riverside and man if you ever get the chance I will take you fishing in the Wabash Valley
maybe people can understand why I hate it here in Germany and miss my home so much and maybe they cant.... I just dont know?
Home sweet home.....All journeys eventually end in the same place, home.handshake wine wave
hay checkers yep indiana is a good state to live in especialy southern indiana tryed to get a job in the coal mines near terre haute many years ago,,,dont mean to make you feel bad but i well be going through terre haute next week may stop there and spend the night beer
I lived in KY for a couple of years, A place called Independence. I went over to IN a few times, it was like travelling back in time about 50 years. Not my cup of tea. I also spent 2 weeks working the Indy 500. OH was very similar to IN & KY. That whole part of the country is a little too Mom & Apple pie for my taste. Been to CA many times, in fact it would be easier for me to list the states I've never been to.
LoL. About 30 years ago someone warned me against going to Indiana. Said the song was right. You know the old one about the prisoner who escaped where he sings, "Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there.." Specifically my friend was warning me about Gary, Indiana which he described as a factory town gone bad. I would presume with the current economy that town has gotten a little more poor and maybe a little more of a place to not put on my travel stop plans. :)
