Just saw a documentary about Abilene Kansas
And it seems that it was a cow town with Texas Longhorn cattle coming from the south
The town got so out of hand that they hired Wild Bill Hickok As Sheriff to maintain order
That Didn't work as Wild Bill Ended Up Gambling with cards instead of doing his job.

He Realized the someone was coming up behind him real fast,so he shot him.
It turned out that the guy he shot? Was his deputy.
