Ankle update
So I went in for my re-exam. A minor change noted from my last visit. This time before signing in I was asked if I had a fever and if anyone in my household has recently been outside the US. Upon learning I probably did not have Ebola the exam proceeded. X rays showed the Fibula is healing but has a little way to go yet. The cast was removed. Both the ankle and the foot are still swollen and stiff after 30 days. The cast was not replaced. Instead I was fitted with a removable monsterous boot. I am allowed to remove it for scratching and bathing, but should wear it until my next visit in December. It is suggested I wear it while sleeping for the next week. I have been offered more pain meds (declined) and given a doctor's note forbidding work until further notice.
I couldn't wait to take the boot off when I got home and scratch, scratch, scratch. Here is a new comparison image of the right ankle/foot compared to the injured left one. The foot swelling is visible. Experimentation confirms the ankle tendons are still tender and not that strong yet. I have put the boot back on.

Get well soon Ken
My sister had one of those monster boots to wear (and sleep with) a while ago when she broke a bone in her foot. I think she wore it for 4days before discarding it.
