To me what makes this funny is how totally unsuited they were in the first place - she's painted as foul-mouthed, independent, and couldn't care less about his feelings, and he's a bit prim and idealistic. How did they ever get together? laugh

Ken, interesting viewpoint (and by the way, if your date picked up one of your ligers she is one scary lady, laugh) - my brother said once to a female housemate that he was a bit worried at how many women he had slept with and she said oh, she didn't think a man should fret until he had over 100 partners, then he should perhaps worry about his inability to commit. He idly asked what she thought the cut-off was for women and she looked surprised and said 'the same'. He was shocked. Double standard!

I genuinely believe females are genetically engineered to seek out the best mate they can, and several thousand years of engineering isn't that easily shaken off. Males are driven to spread their efforts as far as they possibly can. Society is the compromise between the two. dunno
