I have lived in 4 countries and it was always my ambition to retire in Spain...For better climate. .better life style...cheaper cost of living ...
What more do I want? I have many friends ..Some of other nationalities but mostly Spanish and have integrated well here.
Most Brits want to come here for the same reasons and on their pension they can certainly do better here.
I think you will only find out once you'll live there. You can always give it a try and come back if it doesn't work for you.
