Body donation

Have you ever thought of donating your bodies when your lives are over to save others' lives?

I have been thinking about this sometimes but still not gather enough courage to make up my mind yet...

What do you think about this? heart1

Hi LS wave

I've been contemplating the idea for quite awhile now. I did check with our local hospital here regarding pledging my organs .

Apparently, I need to apply online and a card would be sent to me. I'd need to carry that card with me at all time.
I'm considering leaving my body to medical science...
My Mom always hoped I'd go to medical school. grin

donate your body to me ... while you're alive instead. Whatca think of that maam? roll eyes roll eyes

PS: You'd still save a life atm .. uh oh
My dear friend. Do it if you want because you don't need anyone permission to help others. Just find a good organization that will do things for you too like cremate your body at the end of a certain time period and return it to your loved ones if that what you want.

I had an agreement like that in California, but now I live in Arizona, so I need to re-do my body will. Thanks for the reminder!
I'm an organ donor hopefully I can save a couple of lives I've never thought about leaving my body to science until now and I'm going to stay with organ donating wine (great blog )
It is good for the doctors. They won't have to try too hard to keep you alive and they can earn money selling the parts.
@ken

organs cannot be lawfully sold nor can a hospital make any money in any other way directly from an organ. There are laws specifically designed to prevent such a thing from happening.
When I'm done with my body, others are welcome to use it.

Before I'm done with it...we should probably talk a little first.
I'm a registered organ donor. My daughter knows that if I end up vegetative, my living will is to be kept alive only as long as it takes to harvest any useful bits. I don't think anyone will want my lungs smoking

Then off to medical school - there is such a desperate shortage of cadavers that student surgeons are having to learn virtually instead of on dead bodies like in the good old days. So I'll be a bit of a treat for them.

Why would anyone want to be buried or cremated intact? We're just animated lumps of clay and when the animated bit stops, donate the clay to give someone the chance of a working kidney, corneas, whatever, even just surgical experience. dunno
Thanks guys bouquet for your kindness and sharing. @Tenner, come take my heart then you will have my body (alive) grin Abby, that's also what i am thinking of teddybear
there is an organisation where you can designate your parts for certain organizations. believe me be carefull of who you donate it to.
yes it is a business just like any other and full of greed.
