Tatami applause

That’s my Arty’s favourite performer/songwriter/actor!

Art and I were just talking about him and he dedicated ‘Help Me Make It Through The Night’ to his MiMi smitten
I was about to close the computer when I saw your comment. Can't help but respond right away otherwise I'd have to do it tomorrow. Thanks again for being my first poster. Appreciates it so much!. That song Help me make it thru the night has very manly and incredible lyrics. Emotional but in a manly way. So few artist/musicians can get away with being one after so many decades. When he sang it with Ms Rita, you could just see the emotions. Very endearing rendition!heart wings teddybear bouquet
Hi Tat, although i generally don't like that kind of music, he is indeed a great singer.

I saw him live years ago at a festival.
Merle Haggard is better imo.
Hi Tatami, Kris is 81 years old and still touring. Wow.

I looked him up online and there's not enough room here to type all he has accomplished so far in his life.

You are right,. What a man. cheers
one of my Favorites!

Kris Kristofferson - Sunday morning coming down (1970)
Ray Price does it better than Kris
@Molly, surely he's one great artist and I maybe partial but he's one great lyricist IMO. Wish I could see him perform in person too. Thanks for sharing!heart wings bouquet
@One, his voice was better but because I love Mr Kris' songs so I'd prefer him. They're all good anyway. I'm just a bit sentimental. Thanks for dropping by.bouquet
@Wen, he's an accomplished man. Just look at the eyes! Thanks for your rare appearance!!teddybear
@Conrad, thanks for the upload. I'm still learning how to.heart wings bouquet
@Miwagi, one thing commendable about Mr?Kris is his humility. He'd said that he's happy to listen to his songs covered by other singers who are able to do justice to his songs more than him. Such a humble man! But I still like the emotion when he sings his own songs. Even the glint of his eyes while singing as if he's remembering something akin to the songs he' singing. Thanks to your extra rare appearance!heart wings teddybear
Hey Tam!

Thanks, I like this song too...have a nice day therebouquet
Hello tatami I'm not taking anything away from KK. I was born in Nashville and I love country music. Few have written better songs than KK . Good writers love it when people do their songs, and Ray Price knocked it out of the park. And Janice Joplin made Me and Bobby McGee famous. Anytime you want to talk country music count me in.wave
@Crazy, it's been so long! Good thing you like his music too!heart wings bouquet
@Miwagi, your username sounded Japanese. are you a Japanese descendant? I do not brand the kind of music I appreciate. If I like the lyrics and the tune and if the music strike a certain chord, if I like the singer. I'm not that into solely country music. I have varied interest hence I'm never bored even alone. Great to know you come from there. Why are great country music singers are from your place? I wonder. And true most of his songs became famous with others as singers. And he humbly admitted to that. But his rendition is full of emotion that I think no one could duplicate. Nice knowing someone from a place of great musicians. heart wings teddybear bouquet Thanks for sharing. Appreciates it very much!!bouquet
Tatami no I am not Asian, but I am fascinated with Asian people and culture. Nashville is where all the country singers come to make themselves famous. Gtrand Ole Opry is there. Kris used to live there and wrote many of his songs there. Johnny Cash lived there. It is called the home of country music. I liked the old country music better than the new country music they make today. I like other music too, but I like good lyrics. I also like koi fish and raise them on my land. You seem very nice, I'm pleased to meet you.
I remember Kris Kristofferson in a movie A Star Is Born inn 1976.I suppose he was an ok singer.
@Miwa, speaking of koi fish, I always pass by an old shrine with a pond full of koi fish of different colors but not as varied as in Shirotori garden. They are a gentle and smart beings. Seeing them gather near where Iam to catch the feeds has some calming effect on me. A nice way to de stress after work. Koi is the symbol of Nagoya City, the capital of the prefecture where I live. Thanks for giving time.bouquet
@Miwa, though I've lived for over 20 yrs here, I'm actually a Filipina. Japan is my "adopted" country while from time to time, I do visit my native country, the Phils. You are familiar with Japan. Have you been here before? If you have a big garden with a pond full of koi of varying colors then your place looks serene and idyllic. And I never realized how expensive they can be! Good luck to your search!! thanks for giving time.bouquet
"Tatami?"

Filipinawow I think Filipina women are prettier and friendlier than most Japanese women.tip hat
@Bear,think I'm lucky to have a handful of rarely seen posters. He's a real accomplished man. One who enjoys what he's doing. Very lucky indeed! Thanks for dropping by.bouquet heart wings

Ah give over Tatami, you're the rare one here .. not me.
Just now watched your clip, love that song .. just hate watching the fine things in life decaying sigh
I never cared much for his music. He was a decent actor though, especially in the movie Blade.

@galrads, thanks for the movie clip. I'm not much into movies. But I did like the clip. He's still a macho despite the age. And really he's quite an actor. An accomplished man through and through! Iam quite lucky with this blog with a handful of rare vistors. Thanks again!yay heart wings bouquet
I think Tatami boredom leads some of us to do very strange things, bringing out weird blogs also giggle

Concerning age, I totally agree with you but mapped faces and wrinkles aside its the ability decaying that I find most saddest of all, sometimes I think there is nothing sadder than seeing an elderly person unable to do what they were once well capable of, this being said... ageing is a privilege once it hasn't become a suffering.

A nice day to you there Tata wave

@Itchy, ability decaying? Might be so. But I do compare him to others of his age. Quite incredible for his age. And the song was his. And the prose of the lyrics. If I'd be given the chance to hear him live I'd be more than happy. Bored? Maybe so. Just having relaxing time after attending an air fest last Saturday and now while I'm on my way to Nagoya. Tonight, I do still have to work. Sorry for making you bored with the kind of interests I have.grin bouquet
doh doh doh Heavens no Tatami ....
what I meant ... I was bored lastnight when I dressed up my teddy and brought out my blog.. in other words, its my interests that are boring NOT YOURS bouquet
@Itchy, wether it's mine or yours or someone else's, it doesn't matter. Not a bit agitated. In fact I'm thinking of making the same to invite rare visitors to comment.grin That way, it won't be a boring blog. Coz I'm not a boring person, only the blogs.laugh bouquet
