Disturbing scenes from Australia

Those who wish to divide think they will win. As evil has done throughout history, it will seek to divide so as to be able to rule. This time round, Covid is being used as the predicate. United, we stand - divided we fall. I refuse to do the bidding of those seeking to divide us.
I read a comment today that reminded me of working for a South African guy who used the phrase "He doesn't know shit from shiola" That's not how I first heard it and I'm sure something got lost in the miles from America to South Africa. He probably heard it from a few distant relatives.
Let's go back a hundred years or so where George Melancthon Wetmore invented boot polish in the form of paste that sold in round tin cans under the name of Shinola.
In America, it was pretty commonplace to describe someone of lesser intellect who doesn't know 'shit from Shinola'
The Southern version is not knowing the difference between 'shit and apple butter' where they add the explanation 'he had to smell it to see with one to eat'
Yesterday, a young associate of mine said "Catch you on the flip-flop" and I asked if she knew what that meant. Her response was no and I explained it referenced CB radio jargon where truckers who frequented the same roadway would greet other truckers coming and going. One heading east and the other heading west might pass each other on the return trip back home.

Defending Liberal Principles Against The Illiberal, Regressive, Bigoteer Control LEFT Is now a Conservative Position ...
I have had quite a few messages since I made a profile here. But what fascinated me is that when I reject a person politely, some respect it, and some not so much.
Just now, i got a “f*#k you a$$h*£€” for telling him that there is quite a big age difference between us. I’ve also been called a “b!+€#” and a gold digger just because I think we want different things.
Men risk rejection for initiating contact, so i try to be polite in letting them down. So I guess just not replying would be best?
Whatever!

If you been out of your home or apartment even for a few hours, you will see many wearing masks outdoors in the sunshine walking, riding a bike, etc. whether or not it is "required".
You may also find that the "narrative" has shifted again: the 'vaccine' is NOT a 'vaccine' even though "They" forced Webster's Dictionary to alter their definition of 'vaccine' to fit what they have been trying to 'jab' us with.
How have they accomplished this creation of so many 'sheep'?

I'm not sure the story used the correct word as a straphanger is a person who holds on to a strap on a crowded bus where all the seats are occupied.
However, I read a story today about a 28 year old man in an attempt to avoid paying the $2.75 subway fare, jumped the turnstile. In doing so, his foot caught and he tumbled head first on to the cement floor.
This happened in Queens, New York. He was declared dead at the scene.
What a terrible fate to pay for avoiding a subway toll.

I rarely answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, however I did put out a few bids and customers have called to discuss prices. I'm also working on a large renovation and the contractor has me in touch with some of the trades as I need specific placement of walls, plumbing and electrical.
A call came through and I answered without saying anything. The guy on the other end spoke first and knew my name. He started into a sales pitch for some computer service. I stopped him cold and told him to remove my number from his list.
Hanging up, I placed his number on my blocked number list.
I've been using the same phone for a few years and plan to upgrade sometime next year. Normally, I clone all my contacts and data from the old phone to the replacement phone. Having repeated the same procedure for at least 5 phones. I'm curious now if the new phone will receive the blocked list in the transfer. I've never seen a blocked caller list to verify who's on it.
Last night, I received a text message from an unknown number stating my Citibank account has been put on hold due to recent activity and to restore the account, visit the link provided to verify.
Thanks but no thanks. That's a 100% phishing scam in an attempt to get my banking information. The beauty is I don't have a Citibank account.
If I did, I would call my bank to verify and not click the link in the text message.
I reverse Googled the number but it turned up nothing. There's a good chance it was spoofed and not really assigned by a phone carrier.
Be safe, tis the season as scammers are in high-gear.

Christmas is a special time. This has been one hell of a year. But Christmas remains a beautiful time of year. Enjoy it. Smile. Laugh. Never forget how precious life is. We face challenges as a society and as a world, but I truly believe there is far more good than bad. It's simply a matter of fostering that good. It goes way beyond political differences. It's what makes us who we are. So here is my best wishes to everyone on CS. Have a special Christmas, and let's look forward to a future blessed with an abundance of what unites us all. God bless, and Happy Christmas,
Chancer (Jonathan)
