The ongoing saga of the rental units....

OK, statistically, my sample size is tiny. So my whine here is anecdotal. But I'm wondering if other changes in civility, honesty, responsibility, ability to self reflect, resistance to blaming others, and so on---are part of broader societal changes, and not confined to the sensibilities of named generations. Latest lease applicant, Ivy League educated septagenarian, is breaking her current lease, perhaps with some good reasons, and expects me to ignore this high level of personal drama on her part. Her current land lord (hate this term) had a mouthful to say about her, as she did of him. And talk about pushy. NYC tree top pushy. Asking for multiple exceptions to points of tenancy clearly stated in the advert. Presented several personal references, and fully expects that this should some how obviate the non due process broken lease. But here's the kicker. After I personally said no, then comes the request to move items into storage space here, while she extracates herself, FROM THE FIX SHE GOT HERSELF INTO. Can you say Chutzpah? Maybe I am mererly evolving into an even worse picky curmudgeon. CS blggers will know. ;-). Aa.

Uppers.....

and downers. In the USA, and now a growing number of other places, the alt-left is pushing to erase history by taking down, sometimes forcibly and violently, landmarks and statues of major historical figures, if they somehow don't fit into their biased, blancophobic, hate filled, ueber PC, self-loathing phantasy world. In doing so, not only do they ignore the rights of majority preferences, but preclude the importance of having such monuments serve to bring about open debate, especially about the importance of how the historical period in which we live impacts our choices. Slipery slope, this. Many historical heroes of the alt-left aren't at all so sqeaky clean. No? Plenty of such examples, beginning with MLK. Aa.

Hurricane hitting Texas

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone in the path of Hurricane Harvey to please be safe and I am praying for the best and hoping everyone will be safe.

I am not a blogger, I just wanted to say this so people of Texas will know others around the world are wishing them the best in the face of what could be a disaster.

Praying for Texas.
