2 4 the price of 1 ?

New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins was sent to China with a backup for the country's aging plane, Betty - a 30-year-old Boeing 757. Betty, which often breaks down mid-air, is costlier to repair than to maintain, said acting Prime Minister Carmel Sepuloni. Betty was sent on a trade delegation to China with Hipkins and 80 officials, and her twin was sent as a precautionary measure.

Maximum strength...

It appears if you want to sell a product it must be the best you can offer. Regular products don't work anymore. It must be maximum strength. Deodorant soap? Maximum 36 hour protection. Dandruff shampoo? Maximum strength. Antacid? 2000mg maximum strength.
Long lasting is good.
Fast acting is better.
Maximum strength is what you really want!

Loh_key, it's not a rant, but an assessment of today's marketing strategies. thumbs up

Strike two...

In May, CNN televised a Town Hall meeting and invited Donald. J. Trump who stated he was allowed to take classified documents when leaving the White House.
A few days later, his lawyer Tim Parlatore, announced he was leaving the team.

Yesterday, Donald J. Trump was indicted on 7 criminal counts in the case involving his possession of classified documents.
Today, two lawyers Jim Trusty and John Rowley defending Donald Trump on federal charges quit the case.

Is there a lawyer in the house?
We've got a guy who badly needs one. Or is that needs one badly?

The disappearance is noted...

I'm curious why a few recent blogs have disappeared. I noted numbers on my blogs for reference. Two days ago, I had 1,671 blogs and this morning, it's 1,666.
The list of total system blogs showed 71,200 and now it's down to 67,956.
Trimming the fat?

The first thought that comes to mind is storage and bandwidth. At some point, blogs and forum posts will become enormous and the cost of keeping data for years and years becomes expensive. CS is a free site and the need to eliminate some data would become a possibility.

Just a thought... It was mentioned (in a blog) that blogs that didn't comply with the wishes of administration would be deleted. I tried looking for that blog... but it disappeared too!

Finding messages...

In the 'old' days, If you had to contact someone, the first line was to actually visit them in-person or write a letter, affix a stamp and mail it. After telephones were invented, you could call them. If they didn't answer, you would have to call again (and maybe again) until they were available to answer the phone.
A generation later, someone invented an answering machine, giving you the ability to leave a recorded message that you hoped they listened to. The bad part of that was listening to a tape playback of 20 messages to get the one that was important. You also had the ability to send a FAX if they had a machine connected to their phone.
Technology changed and email became available. This eliminated the need for mail and FAX messages.
Add cellphones a generation later and communication improved as people carried a phone with them and didn't have to 'wait to get home' to listen to messages. Shortly after that, text messages became a strong part of cellular service. Instead of calling or sending an email, you could type out a message for instant delivery. Icing on the cake added photos to your texting.
That gave rise to several applications to handle texting including Whatsapp that allows for group texting and video chats. Competition is Signal app doing nearly the same thing but it's private so the information in the app isn't visible on the phone.

Where am I going with this?
I'm communicating with lots of customers, suppliers, coworkers who are all on different platforms. When I have to research 'who said what' or where a link or photo is, I'm checking through different locations. Lost time searching for details, drawings and messages. I dislike Gmail but it synchronizes on all my devices so I'm forged to use that as my main means of communication.
The office uses Streak for sales and marketing, Asana for managing the projects from start to finish and Quickbooks to track the money... that's more than I want to deal with.
No choice. It's the hand I'm holding right now.

Adidas: Lose, lose, lose...

Late last year, Adidas had a falling out with Ye aka Kanye West and now they have warehouses stocked/stacked with his Yeezy shoes. Talk of donating the shoes or offloading them to some factory outlets has complications. I read that even after their 'breakup' they would have to pay Ye royalties for the sale of the shoes.
Destroying them causes problems environmentally, rebranding them probably poses some ethical problems. Whatever the solution, it's a case of lose, lose, lose for Adidas.

Train Wreck...

The Ohio derailment last week had me thinking of what it takes to coordinate a multi-billion dollar operation of trains, tracks and linked control systems. My guess it's as stressful as being in the hot-seat of an an Air Traffic Controller.

This scenario may have happened at one point in time:

A young woman who recently graduated college applied to the east coast railway for the system track controller position of their new fully automated computerized system.
The person doing the interview said her college transcript was great and that she scored very high on their aptitude test including all the required computer skills.

When asked why she was applying for such a position, her response was 3 generations of her family had been employed by the railroad system and she wanted to keep up the tradition.
"Excellent" said the interviewer.

We are nearly finished with your interview, but I want to say the position you have applied for is very stressful. We want to be absolutely sure you can think clearly in critical moments of a life-or-death situation. I've got one final question.
"Okay" said the woman.
"If two trains were approaching each other at a high rate of speed, but they were on the same track, what would you do?"
She answered "Simple, I would activate the system override and switch them to separate tracks"
"And if the computer system didn't respond?" the interviewer asked.
"I'd radio down to switching watchman to switch the tracks manually." Said the woman.
"Okay" said the interviewer "What if the watchman didn't reply?"

The woman responded with "Hmmm, I'd call my uncle Roy."
"Your uncle Roy?" the interviewer asked.
"Yes" the woman responded "My uncle Roy"
"What could your uncle Roy possibly do?" said the interviewer.
"Nothing" said the woman "But after 47 years of workin' on the railroad, he ain't never seen a crash like the one that's gonna happen today!"
