When Love Comes Knocking At Your Door.

When somebody knocks on my front door, I open it. I think the majority of people do. Especially here in South Africa because most of us have safety gates to prevent surprises when we open the door. Something that was not necessary when I was a child.grin

The average person doesn’t hide behind a closed door and doesn’t scamper to write down registration numbers. Unless - of course - if we expect trouble.hole

We open the door and if it is a friend, we let him in. We cannot just let a stranger in but we should listen to what brought the stranger to our doorstep. Then, after checking his credentials, we can decide if there is need for any action or not.blah blah

Why is it then that we act differently when love comes knocking at our heart’s door? We follow the extreme options. We either hide behind a closed door of we let the stranger in and give him a free run of the place without knowing his bona fides.doh

Why don’t we first listen to a stranger’s story before we decide what to do? Should we not get to know the strangers bona fides before we give him the full run of our hearts?dunno

Your heart is a sacred as your home; treat it as such.heart wings

A Six Or A Nix

If the anticipation is really better than the act then I guess there will always be another mountain to climb. So now that I have bowled my Maiden Over I want to hit her for a six as well. reunion

I will have to take strike on Middle and Leg. This maiden bowls a very fast in-swinger Around The Wicket that is very hard to get away if you are a bit late on the shot. She surely knows how to place her field. Hitting a six here is going to be risky for she has me well covered at Point. If it is wide I can try a Late Cut but I’m bound to be caught by the Third Man if I don’t get hold of her properly.

She has a very Fine Leg that keeps me looking over my left shoulder and she keeps moving her Long Leg to distract my attention. With that Silly Short On she makes things no easier for me while her Silly Point only complicates matters. The Sweeper on the Boundary is just to remind me of what awaits if I should dare to Drive over the In Field. joy

My only hope to hit a six here is if she strays a bit onto my legs so I can get down onto my right knee to tickle the ball over that unguarded area just in Front of Square on the Leg Side. What will it be; a six or a nix?

She stands there, ball in her hand, with that ‘You just dare to hit me’ expression in her eyes.

Every few minutes yet another female streaks across the field winking an eye at her, upsetting my blood pressure and hormone balance. blushing I’m sure she put them up to do it.

To top it all, whenever I try to Take Strike somebody walks across the Sight Screen; taking my concentration away. These are all her doings.doh

Cricket can be such an interesting game.

One Year Today

If my memory serves me right I have been with CS exactly one year today. It had been an eventful year and a lot of things had happened.

Back on the home front life was colorful and interesting; with a few downs thumbs down and many more ups thumbs up but today I’d rather talk about the time spent here on CS.

I made some great friends, buddies both male handshake and female.hug I am not going to single out anybody. It will only offend the friends I am bound to leave off the list accidentally. In addition I also gathered a few enemies. frustrated But they were few and most had departed for better things to do. tongue

During the year I posted writing 180 blogs, 21 polls, 5 articles, 4 tests and 3 poems. In the same period I have deleted approximately 10,800 (unconfirmed grin) emails from scammersfrustrated and if I subtract that number from the views received in total, we are left with more or less 68 real women. rolling on the floor laughing

So in all a very productive, if not interesting, year. But most of all, a year in which CS introduced me to the woman I believe I can spend the rest of my life with. smitten

Can it work?

Long distance relationships are problematic and demand a lot of sacrifice; to say the least. It brings about many logistic problems. Visiting each other is fun, but once the romances had been sorted out, the real problems start; for such a relationship would require for at least one party to relocate.

If the two parties live in the same country it is not too bad, but if they live in different countries it brings even more hurdles to overcome. Of which fiscal control is not nearly the least. One does not easily leave your life’s savings behind.sigh

This can be further complicated by differences in culture, religion, tradition, careers and so many other things. Bear in mind that, because of the geography, the parties involved cannot know each other too well either.

Racial differences should not make it worse, but certainly do not make it easier either and serves very well to underline most the other issues. While one can change of religion, adapt to new culture, adopt new traditions and carve new careers, you cannot change your race. Not even with an operation. You will die being what you were born as.grin

And then I did not even talk about the tension, embarrassment and uneasiness that family, friends and strangers alike can bring about with their prejudice.frustrated

They say where there is a will there is a way. But is there a way to sort all these difficulties? It is easy to say one must reach a compromise, but compromise requires sacrifice. And one must be satisfied and contented with your sacrifice.

And then I ask myself; can it really work? Can love alone overcome all; or does it need a little help?dunno

I’m in love with two women

Can a man be in love with two women?

I love my new girlfriend and she loves me… But I am also in love with the mother of her son and she is in love with me too. I don’t want to lose either of them.

Should I tell them about each other?dunno

Or should I wait until they discover about each other?hole

Maybe I can marry both. These things happen in Africa.rolling on the floor laughing

It is not that I'm greedy; I just like a lot while I enjoy the variety.

To Bowl A Maiden Over

This is not about cricket, but you will need to understand one or two cricket terms here. For the benefit of those not into cricket: a maiden over is when you can bowl 6 balls in succession without conceding a single run.professor

When I still played cricket I was a specialist batsman coming in at #3. Nothing spectacular; just a sturdy club player that you would rather have in your own team than with the opponents.

However, I was a ghastly bowler, mainly because I refused to bowl in the nets, but I was often used to break partnerships. I would spray them all over the show. I was treated with utter disrespect and hit all over the park; if they could only get to the ball. But they paid for it in wickets. laugh

Once I got a hat trick (3 wickets off 3 consecutive balls) off the first three balls and still went for 20 runs, including two wides. blushing

And I have never bowled a maiden over.sigh

But now that I no longer play cricket I’m going to bowl a maiden over; and I have decided which maiden it will be too. love

So girl, if you are out there; take strike and keep your stumps covered. I’m coming for you. It’s is not going to help to stand there blocking every ball. I’m going to bowl my maiden over and with the last ball of the over I’m going to send your bails flying.tongue

A maiden wicket is so much sweeter than just bowling a maiden over. bowing

The moral of the story? You don’t have to be a good bowler to bowl a maiden over – you must just pitch your balls at the right place.

Getting Married.

It would appear that less and less people still get married today, opting rather to live together ‘in sin’. devil That piece of paper that states that you are now husband and wife seems to count for very little lately.

A child with a surname different to the mother or father no longer carries a stigma as before. The legal aspects of such a ‘partnership’, which is all that marriage really is, can easily be arranged with a contract similar to a normal prenuptial contract.

Then have one hellava big party and you may kiss the non-bride!

Another step in human evolution; man and wife no longer form permanent bonds as they used to.

Mind you, it is very good for our genetic pool when men and women have children from various partners. I know somebody who has five children with four different fathers; and she was married to all at some stage or another.

So why get married? If you really want so much trouble – buy yourself a used Alfa Romeo! rolling on the floor laughing

Stay loose; don’t worry – be happy!

You Took My Breath AWay

The minute your lips softly touched mine,I knew-In every part of me,a tidal wave of desire existed within me-the fierce pulsating river flooded my heart, and every other beat was yours-rippling to the bottom of my feet.....It was then, that you took my breath away.~It sent me reeling through my mind, with thoughts only of you.And all the world did not exist, around us.Only you and I were on a flight going nowhere-just a mere kiss, and I was enthralled.~When you took my breath away.~The mystery of love, engaging sweet talk, the look in your eyes,so many plans-nothing mattered, when we lived on the edge of the world,I couldn`t forget you.~And,you took part of my heart away with you, too. It was etched within you. When I saw you last,I dreamt your breath was still on my lips, even though some of you is still with me.you are gone from me to be in the graves of lovers.
My only regret was a child I never had, that could remind me of the wave in the back of your hair. The tiny gap in the front of your teeth, they may have one day, & the long fingers of being creative, & all the other "If onlys", & maybe growing old together....I will still think of what could have been, & you still would take my breath away, my love.
