What Gives?

I look at a lot of profiles. And I got just one question. Doesnt it stand to reason that if you are a member of Connecting Singles, just like me, then you are looking for a companion of sorts, just like me? Whether it be just friendship or something more. So why is it that a person has to look a certain way just to be friends? I am full figured. That dont mean I cant be your friend. I may not be what you are looking for as far as a g/f. But I have a sense of humor. I am a good listener. I can even change my own spark plugs.
I think its crazy that folks can look at your picture, have the guts to rate you. Most of my ratings are an 8-10. But dont have the guts to drop a line, just to say hello. I personally wont rate a photo. I have never been photogenic so not gonna judge others. Anyway thanks for stopping by.
hug to everyone.

The Storm Last Night

Last night
Was the hight
Of the Storm
I was warm
Cosy and happy
Sitting by my open fire
I realised I had no desire
To be anywhere else

Bright lights and thunder
Did make me wonder
With a roof above me
Had thoughts of a tree
Being tossed and shaken
Poor birds being awaken
Feeling the full force
Of mother nature of course
How privalidged I AM
To just BE
warm and cosy
Was me.

Everything happens for a reason
In each season
Be happy for each day we are allowed.

read slowly and ponder

Jack took a long look at his speedometer before slowing down: 73 in a 55 zone. Fourth time in as many months. How could a guy get caught so often?

When his car had slowed to 10 miles an hour, Jack pulled over, but only partially. Let the cop worry about the potential traffic hazard. Maybe some other car will tweak his backside with a mirror. The cop was stepping out of his car, the big pad in hand.

Bob? Bob from Church? Jack sunk farther into his trench coat. This was worse than the coming ticket. A cop catching a guy from his own church.
A guy who happened to be a little eager to get home after a long day at the office. A guy he was about to play golf with tomorrow. Jumping out of the car, he approached a man he saw every Sunday, a man he'd never seen in uniform.

"Hi, Bob. Fancy meeting you like this."
"Hello, Jack." No smile.
"Guess you caught ! me red-handed in a rush to see my wife and kids."
"Yeah, I guess." Bob seemed uncertain. Good.
"I've seen some long days at the office lately. I'm afraid I bent the rules a bit -just this once."

Jack toed at a pebble on the pavement. "Diane said something about roast beef and potatoes tonight. Know what I mean?" "I know what you mean. I also know that you have a reputation in our precinct ." Ouch.
This was not going in the right direction. Time to change tactics.

"What'd you clock me at?"
"Seventy. Would you sit back in your car please?"
"Now wait a minute here, Bob. I checked as soon as saw you. I was barely nudging 65." The lie seemed to come easier with every ticket.
"Please, Jack, in the car"

Flustered, Jack hunched himself through the still-open door. Slamming it shut, he stared at the dashboard. He was in no rush to open the window.
The minutes ticked by. Bob scribbled away on the pad.
Why hadn't he asked for a driver's license?

Whatever the reason, it would be a month of Sundays before Jack ever sat near this cop again. A tap on the door jerked his head to the left.
There was Bob, a folded paper in hand Jack rolled down the window a mere two inches, just enough room for Bob to pass him the slip.

"Thanks." Jack could not quite keep the sneer out of his voice.
Bob returned to his police car without a word. Jack watched his retreat in the mirror. Jack unfolded the sheet of paper. How much was this one going to cost?

Wait a minute. What was this? Some kind of joke?
Certainly not a ticket. Jack began to read:

"Dear Jack, Once upon a time I had a daughter. She was six when killed by a car. You guessed it- a speeding driver. A fine and three months in jail, and the man was free. Free to hug his daughters, all three of them. I only had one, and I'm going to ! have to wait until Heaven before I can ever hug her again.
A thousand times I've tried to forgive that man. A thousand times I thought I had. Maybe I did, but I need to do it again. Even now. Pray for me. And be careful, Jack, my son is all I have left."
"Bob"

Jack turned around in time to see Bob's car pull away and head down the road. Jack watched until it disappeared. A full 15 minutes later, he too, pulled away and drove slowly home, praying for forgiveness and hugging a surprised wife and kids when he arrived.
Life is precious. Handle with care. Drive safely and carefully.
Remember, cars are not the only things recalled by their maker.
Funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the
sanctity of life, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how if forward this message, you will not send it to
many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or
what they will think of you for sending it to them.

If...

If one day I am gone
look into the sunny day
and see me feel me in every ray

If one day I am not here
to whisper in you ears
Know I love you..remember sweet words
whispered and shouted for all to hear

If time takes me ..
love me and live on

live in the knowledge that
I will live on in the love we have
and the memories we have made

Loving you as I do
I have learned one thing
it will go on...never ending

Thru times mists
And if God smiles on us
once more we will be again
in eachothers arms

If Only

She has walked with you so many times before holding your hand
if only in her mind.
She lives to love you, she believes you are all she needs,
if only in her heart.
She has tasted your kiss, felt your touch, known your love,
if only in her dreams.
She has watched over you, feeling and knowing every move,
if only in her soul.
She has cried many tears in broken promises and dreams,
if only alone in her bed.
Just think of all she could of done
IF ONLY IN YOUR ARMS

He....

He asks me such strange questions
only my heart can answer
He wants me to tell him
what only my eyes can say
he reaches across miles
with so much in the way.
Looking for all I have to offer.
Though I know not what it is?

He looks to me for comfort
and make it all just right.
To make the days joyful
and passion through out the night

We share so many hopes
promises of what can be
I only hope I can be
all his heart does see.

Can You Touch Me Sweetly?

Can you touch me sweetly?
softly just right there?
Can you make me feel
as though you really care?
Will you kiss me slowly?
One so I can know
this is just the beginning
from now on it grows
Can you let me love you?
as I can only do
Will you let me show you?
all the things I hope to
will you touch me?
as you touch my heart
will you swear to love me?
and never let us part
will you swear to protect me?
and never break my heart
Will you be my forever love?
and let our time now start

Breath Away

We are never very far from our love
There are moments when you seem so far away
and the lonliness seems unbearable.
Times when I replay your messages on the
phone just to hear your voice
and the words "I love you"
I have that time to reflect on all the
memories we have been making.

At night I will send a prayer on the wind
with my love in hopes that it keeps you safe.
A long with a sweet kiss to keep it company
so that you may feel my love.
Inhale deeply my love, taste every word every
emotion, know I am there with you,
in spirit and in heart.

At night I see myself laying naked by your
side warmth of your touch, listening to
you breathe.
I realize we are all just a breath away from
eachother.We hold eachother tightly inside
safe warm ever preserved.A heartbeat away.
