Sommerauer71: Ginger, that was beautifully written.

I hope that the people who have this issue with the people in the EU forums, have now had their fun, they may feel they have made their point, I for one will never see it, still, we the people now know what they feel.

I think it is time to return to what we enjoy doing now, don't you?

Still trying to play divide and conquer with EU forum members, while lying, and insulting everyone here again with one-liners... And this is now being defended... No accounting for folk.

Anyway, water finds it's own level, as can clearly be seen. barf

Will converse in more pleasant surroundings Sommer and try to get the essence of this piece of nastiness out of my system.

morgan5: When i first posted here i felt like that too.

What has been said on Int Forums about the way some felt when posting on here i feel has been blown up out of proportin when all said they felt it was not done in a nasty way, but they felt overlooked.

It has now been a discussion here all day, and i do feel that people have been ridiculed for giving their opinions in a non confrontation way and their self esteem questioned.

Think that is sad and will put people off posting. jmo

so thats 3 of us now ! christ we're building an army.! laugh
maybe someone will get the point ?
lago got half way...but then threw a curve ball blues head banger

seriously this is too simple not to understand isnt it ????

sure its open....all welcome....but the initial token welcomes
and nicities, don't disguise the cliquey elitism that lots of people feel; and like SV says, is probably why people don't join in ?
then when they do they get a barrage of subject shifting ' howdie-do-deres ' and lightweight banter.

soomer or later.......one serious thread might actually stay serious ?
and get discussed helpfully to a conclusion ? dunno

iamamm: hi vinny

just looked in.......saw your thread
here's my 2 cents worth .......

you get nothing without trying !!

but a comment has already been made about regulars being protective of ' their own EU forums ' ?

why is that ?.......
i thought this was an open site to all newcomers........
not a PRIVATE PARTY !!

that does piss me off

jeezzzz......think about it
( well maybe it holds your answer, and i need say nowt more ? )

but wouldnt you feel just a little disappointed ...
if you fancied a pint ( no stereotypes )
and you walked into a public bar..........

and everyone turned their backs to you
and got in a ' regular group huggie '

sorry vin......you are as welcome here as ANYONE ELSE !!

it's just the regulars do seem to monopolise
and in 3 months i have been here, it is fun
but there are one or two people
for reasons best known to themselves......
( frankly, i dont give a damn , my dear ! )

who still havent even had the courtesy to reply
and i think studiously ( defensively, insecurely actually !! )
to a direct quote / comment / reply to them..

thats a pity !
but the rest are nice people
some really sincere and genuine

keep trying mate, it doesn't take long to work out who they are !
( thats the good uns's and the not so good un's )

good luck

Hi Iamamm

Very Nice to meet you...........handshake

I wouldnt exactly call me a newbie....laugh

I think your right that it is a courtesy, but I honestly dont think it was done in a malicous way.
Either way I see people are becoming defensive which is Human Nature.
My thread was started to have some real dialogue, and not to be accused of self esteem issues........laugh
which btw I dont have.

Ta again for your input as there are more than just you and me that felt like that.

cheers

SensualVixen: Vinny, I tried joining the EU forums a few months back, even starting a thread if anyone would mind if a Yankee joined their forums. I was basically ignored except for one rude man. Haven't been back since, until today.

Hi SV.............wave

I seen that and there are a few who felt the same.

I wish people would not automatically get defensive and actually think, that there are people who felt like that, regular posters who wanted to get involved in the EU but were isolated.

As I said already its of no consequence to me really, as I could care less, but I do think genuine people are put off.

Just a suggestion Andy. Maybe try the international threads.

Could be what you are looking for.

Many more people and many more topics.

symbolistartist: Hi I'm quite new
First I was rather intimidated, then I realized most people here at the EU forum are welcoming. Especially a few urged me to stay. I did feel that it was hard to enter the conversations because a lot is slang or inside jokes. However the feeling of starting to know people a bit is a good one so it's kind of important IMO to regularly check in if you want to get anything out of this. I don't like the Ints at all since my posts always get ignored and vanish in the overflowing streams. Show up more often, I'm sure you'll start to get responses. I for one love to get to know more decent guys from Europe, just to chat and feel "at home". I did leave last week but was missed by some, so I came back.

Hi Symbol.......wave

I do get involved in the Intl more and I do feel more at home there to be honest.
I just thought that the traffic in the EU was very low, and there is so much we all have in common that I thought there would be more dialogue in the EU.

I'm so glad you had a positive experience here and I do agree there are many good and decent people here.

CaptainBeirutIII: Look, there are various sorts of humour.
Here’s one.
It’s often dubbed “irony”.

The irony is that you Vinny, who started this thread, and who complained in another about how “clique” the EU are, and how you weren’t taken seriously here, has more than once taken part in a piss-taking which killed a thread with a bunch of Nelson Muntz-ing kind of efforts.
There’s been, more than once, some self-parody bunch of charade-brigade enter to fu** up and spoil a good topic, just because they feel like it.

There was this one the other week, a bloody good question, and a serious one, asked by a member, and lot of members found great delight in discussing the topic, SERIOUSLY, and just to get it to 50 pages and shut her thread down, because that is what happens when you get to 50, there you were participating in the mocking of the whole thread.
And that’s not the only time.
I’ll dig out the thread for you if you wish.

So, it’s kind of hard to take your complaint here seriously, and yet I do understand what you're at.

However, there are no bloody cliques. There are only people who you feel you have something in common with, or not.

Hi PPV/PietrePaulo/DrTuareg/CaptainBeirut.

Ta for your posting to me.

Your very kind.

morgan5: i am not talking about this thread it is the other one, all people said was they felt because there are less regular posters here, people got very close and didn't always respond to new posters, nobody said it was a big deal just how they felt. Then a thread is started which is sercastic about how there should be a welcoming committee, kinda childish.

Anyway that is my opinion, to which i am entitled to and i won't post here again, NOT because i feel ignored just think because people posted how they felt they have been laughed at

Hi Morgan

I agree.............maybe its a defense mechanism kicking in confused

Not really Vinny.

It´s more about trying to understand why people should feel slighted, when in fact, if one reads the thread of yours you referred to, the opposite occurred. Most of us responded in a very positive ad friendly manner.

I´m confused. confused

But then CS always confuses me. I´m not part of any clique on any forum.

I do like it more here though!

I can't be arsed, now when you're doing some childish Sesame street kind of gag with names. It's sort of obvious it would be a waste of time. But, hey, it's your thread, which you said was oh so not taken seriously so I'll let you do whatever you want here.
