nayobi: Hi Vinny,
there are some nice regulars '' SMOKY'' and Wedward.they do answer even stupid comments like mines...
I am reading your thread very careful, because it is something that's I was thinking about before. EU forums seems to be a place for regulars. I do write sometimes, but I am not sophisticated at all. my comments are
just ignored most of the time. lake last night...and more before. I try not to get upset about this, then it this is a very special society...
on your question '' Do regulars want more people to join in...'' my answer based on my experience here is '' no''
perfectly happy ''regulars'' between them selfs

Okay, I apologise - I have not read to the end of this thread yet, but feel I want to reply to Nayobi first on this comment above.

How can you say the regulars would say "No" to wanting more or new people to join in?

From what I`ve ever seen here .... Most (sometimes a newie may get overlooked if they make only ONE posting) of them get a special welcome from all the regulars.

If new members coming into the Forum took time to introduce themselves, (just like most any situation in life, where if you stand on the outskirts you get ignored) ..... and participate .... well ..... they then become "regulars" just like anyone else here - in my opinion.

I never set out to become a regular contributor, just found I enjoyed the varied threads - some serious, some funny, some totally idiotic ..... and there was always something to suit my mood of that moment. And by interacting with others, I got to know them - and how they respond - which is what makes friends?

This is what it makes it all so interesting and what makes us come back. Ja?

Because we do interact, we do have a 'conversation' and that is what makes us look like regulars. We are not, we are contributors, some more than others, but no person is off higher importance or more prolific than any other.

The EU is a special place, I love it, one where there is a familiar face and new ones too.

Lovely post smoky.

If anyone here gets puzzled or upset when something they posted gets no comment or reply ..... Tell me .... Do you guys get the same feeling as I get sometimes...?

.... I often get the feeling, after finding I`m the last poster on about 10 threads - that it is because I am here, so everyone else has logged off.....confused ... because of ME!grin

Thanks Sommer, yes, you said it more clearly!

Your word "Contributor" is more apt than "Regulars".

None of us are "Regulars" ... some of us go AWOL periodically.

And others contribute regular as clockwork ... and sometimes even they go AWOL ... maybe they also get the feeling sometimes that they are being ignored?

I have that too. Mainly late at night.

Nah, I don't think it's because of me. I think it is because I am the only one here and folks will respond when they are ready, or if they are interested.

Yes, there is a fine tradition of threads dropping way down the list and being revived when someone has something to add.

My favourite is the Poll on who is going to win Euro 2008. That competition is finished 9 months now but there are still people voting for a potential winner laugh

I have to say this. Because I can.

The forums, whether EU, Internationals, Irish, UK, Aus ot Canada will be here whether we are or not and each poster finds their special one and the people in there.

The forums are what the contributors make of it, not that the forums dictate how they will be.

The EU as I am sure many others of smaller proportions, work because of the contributors, there are many, many that do leave and pop back to post.

It is easier to become close here and in the others, because there are fewer of us, and some people bond and meet and go on to have great friendships, some of us just post.

The forums will continue whoever is here. They will be here long after we are not and they will evolve. As life does, people come and people go.

So, new contributors are always welcome and the more they integrate the more they will post and become included.

That is the same for any forum and not just for the EU.

Now, I'm back to work.

Ciao lovelies...

Very good points are being pointed out here...but it's a pity some members feel that they're being ignored in some way.
To my knowledge since i've been here we always welcomed newbies. I'm not one of the very best to post but i do from time to time.bouquet
