the_guy: not upset. Did you read that article?? I doubt it. and again, WHERE IN THE CONSTITUION DO YOU SEE A MENTION OF CHRISTIANITY. POINT ME TO IT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
Where did I mention the Constitution? I was talking about the ethos of the country, and what our laws are based on. Read, instead of inferring.

BebeII: And where did I generalize against anyone? Please explain. There are three branches of Christianity-Protestant, Catholic, and E. Orthodox. All have their particular way of deciphering their respective bibles. This country was founded by Christians, and our laws until recently, reflected this. There's no need to get upset about it.

Our laws are based on the common laws of the great Britain.
Thomas Jefferson’s letter to Thomas Cooper on February 10, 1814:

"For we know that the common law is that system of law which was introduced by the Saxons on their settlement in England, and altered from time to time by proper legislative authority from that time to the date of Magna Charta, which terminates the period of the common law. . . This settlement took place about the middle of the fifth century. But Christianity was not introduced till the seventh century; the conversion of the first christian king of the Heptarchy having taken place about the year 598, and that of the last about 686. Here then, was a space of two hundred years, during which the common law was in existence, and Christianity no part of it.

Tater: OH I agree You seem to be one hell of a great guy... I don't think I'm better than anyone, I just beleive differently... The Bible says that if you break one of the commandments, then you've broken them all........ Now If I steal a pack of gum from the store, and some else rapes and murders someone.. Man doesn't see us as the same... But in GODS eyes we are... That is why we have to "be saved in the blood of the lamb" sort of speak, (WE have to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, he never once sinned, and died on the cross so that if we beleive in him, we to can be a part of GOD'S KINGDOM...The best we can do ourselves, is like rags compared to GOD... GOD sent Jesus so that man could basically have a second chance...

All the Bible says we need to do to get into Heaven are a few basic things..

Beleive that Jesus Christ is the son of GOD
Accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, which he is
Beleive that the only way into Heaven is through Jesus Christ and Beleiving in him...that's basically it.. but very few people actually beleive that.. in their heart of hearts...

THERE is NO other way, I wish their were... but there is not..

You can be one of the nicest people on earth, help out your fellow man, give to those in need or whatever, but without beleiving those things, You will not make it into the Kingdom of Heaven... I know to me that doesn't sound fair, but I don't make the rules.. The person who made us does... we are his creation.. not the other way around..
Exactly.

BebeII: The Puritans arrives in the 1600's Tater, with many other Christian sects arriving/emigrating later. People bring their understanding of life, their culture, mores, way of doing things, etc., with them. To have expected those who emigrated here to be a blank slate as to what laws they would live under, and what those laws were based on is unreasonable.

Well late 1500's yes, and Christipher Columbus was a catholic.. not Christian

The common laws are one thing, religious law another-they are an amalgamation.

Columbus didn't settle the country-he only discovered it for Europe/Spain. The Spanish then arrived in the 1500's and traveled throughout and into Mexico.

Don't Catholics believe they are the only true Christians?...Not much room for anyone else as Columbus demonstrated...
