The Indians were here long before Europe/Spain wanted a piece of North America. Hence, Columbus dicovered zilch, nadda, nothing.
Yep....that's the truth. Columbus and the gangs were not really so gracious and great that they would travel thousands of miles just to discover some island/country...In those days, western world were not really so gracious. The fact is that they already knew about a great "opening" in the north america.

There was talk of what may lie over the ocean, but until Columbus landed, no tangible proof. European cartographers were interested in mapping the unknown regions of the world, and to them America was a discovery.

No tangible proof? Unknown regions? That's absurd. Ask the Indians, they'll tell you.
Are you sure you're not some 1st grader sneaking in on mommy's computer to get some jollies? Ever heard of being dense?
BebeII: Uhm, That's the old testament Jenea. I think you mean to say that killing the innocent is always wrong, as fighting a war can be a moral act. When was the last time the so called army of god attacked anyone, and just who celebrated it when they did?
Whether it's the old testament or not it happened. To be a christian, you cannot have one testament without the other. As I've stated before, I'm a struggling christian so I know all about the Bible. Killing is wrong in any capacity. War isn't always a moral act because soldiers of the people we are fighting can be innocent. Do you know the death toll of Iraqi civilians? Over 600,000 in 2006 alone. Hell of a way to liberate someone! Through the barrel of a machine gun and killing opposition. It doesn't matter when the Army of God last attacked someone! The point is they did and they still have an active website! In 2009 I don't see or hear about anyone trying to go after them. They could be making more plans for all we know since the right to abortions aren't going anywhere. So, let's call a spade a spade, when was the last time Al-qaeda came and attacked the US? Back in 2001 and how far have we gotten killing innocent Iraqi's?
BebeII: No really? That's why it's a struggle for all people. If you think this country was stolen, then why do you live here? Aren't you then a part of the system that stole it?
I was born in this country and it's my home. I am not responsible for what someone else has done. I do plan on moving to another country someday, I'm thinking Paris. By the way, any idiot knows that this country was stolen (not calling you an idiot by the way). If land is already inhabited by a group of people, in this case the Native Americans, it is neither lost nor up for grabs. Christopher and his crew didn't find a thing because it was never lost. They massacred people, the trail of tears ring a bell? Then when they pushed to the west, it was the Mexicans and that were killed. Blood was spilled for miles of dirt.

Jenea, there are no reliable statistics as yet on the number of Iraqi civilians killed. They range from 100,000+ to over 1.3 million. NO ONE KNOWS. I also didn't say that war was ALWAYS moral, but that it CAN BE moral.

How can a country be stolen, when no one owns it? The 500+ tribes who inhabited N. America had no concept of private property. Some tribes welcomed the settlers, others fought them. You are also arguing about points I never made; i.e., that the country was lost. I said that Columbus discovered America and brought it's reality to the attention of Europe/Spain-not that the continent was created out of whole cloth because he came here. Is this what they teach you in college?
BebeII: Oh please-I have never heard a Christian I know refer to any non-believer as worthy of oppression-get real.
Don't you mean get "smart"? Don't talk to me Bebe. I'm too dumb to talk to. And not moral enough, remember? Last post directed at you. I don't need to be patronized by a**hole.
After I was born and learned where I was, I discovered America for me!!! Hey, we ALL discovered America, as long as we know it exists!!!
Usually, in reality, something is discovered but once, unless it is lost somehow....and I doubt we ever misplaced an entire continent behind the couch...especially with people living on that continent.
