BebeII: Well, I won't delete you anyway-that's a left-wing thing. Even GB didn't bow to the Saudi's, and NO, it wasn't a measure of respect, unless you consider yourself a loyal subject of a King-something we fought to rid our country from a long time ago....Saudi Arabia is the place wherefrom most of the 9-11 murderers hailed from and that country spends billions every year around the world to build mosques, stack them with radical Wahhabi's preaching jihad against us 'infidels', publishes a ton of anti-semitic propaganda, and builds Madrassa's where the only teaching that goes on is memorizing the Koran. What's not to like?

GWB didn't know how to respect people firstly. Secondly, yes, the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia yet Bush sent us into Iraq. We need to hold each individual responsible and not lump everybody into the same category. Not only is it presumptuous, it's also rude. Alao, you speak of the Qu'ran as if it is a bad thing. As a person who had read it, (I'm not muslim) it is not what it is made out to be. It says to show love and respect for people (even christians) and to only harm people who hate them and want to harm them for their religious beliefs. Middleasterns have always been made out to be the "boogieman" for lack of better term because they don't believe what we do and follow their own customs. I think that as a whole this country should be more accepting of things that are different.

Jenea: I think that lady is delusional. He has done great things for this country. Furthermore, he's not kissing anybody's as! He's making up for the bull crap situation that Bush put us into! Bush went and stepped on every pair of toes that he could find, now Obama is trying to offer them bandages. As far as bowing goes, he's showing respect. That is what's wrong with this country. I have had the pleasure of being in other countries and I can honestly say that this country is populated by incredibly rude and disrespectful people, and is unfortunatelt consudered the social norm. Everyone needs to give him a chance. He has said that change won't come overnight and it will take more than 1 term. He isn't doing anywhere near as bad as GWB who has had the most vacations of President in history! Give him a proper chance!

I'm afraid to even post this now, I think the person who operates this thread deletes posts that he doesn't like. I've seen a couple saying the comments were deleted by the editor.

The man has been in office for all of 4 months and he has mede good on some of his promises. It takes money to totally revamp and change things. Furthermore, this mess wasn't created in four months so it won't be solved in as little as four months. He has said that it may possibly take more than one term. I believe that he was doomed when he took office, not because of his politics, but because people wouldn't give him a proper chance. We gave GWB way more chances than he deserved and our country was put into turmoil. He comes a new person and after only four months they don't want him. Fortunately, the majority is with him and is trying to see where we go.

BebeII: Most of us on here have been to other countries as well, and find quite a few rude foreigners when we do. If you want to try this yourself, go to the London and declare yourself a Republican/conservative. No one doubts that change takes time, but what's more important is what KIND of changes he wants to enact. Putting this country deeper into debt and inviting the government further into our lives is not what WE voted for.

I've been to London actually, lovely place. Anyhow, the whole "say you're a republican" thing happens here. Especially in New York. I'm speaking in general. I was in London for quite a few months and I have learned that most Brits don't like Americans simply because of our foreign policies and how we treat other nations. I did study abroad and took a few courses while I was there.

Well lucky for you I guess, as you don't live in this country. You nor I have any idea where he will take us. All we have are opinions. Futhermore, the man is not a socialist. Helping people is what this country was founded on. When it was "discovered" (I personally like to say stolen) people could come and have their land and whaterver else. When some got into trouble they were helped out. Lastly, this countrey would have money if we stopped spending billions on war.

And how exactly, did GB disrespect people? We went into Iraq because it was a longstanding problem-Hussein was playing games with weapons inspectors and did support terrorism. Where did I lump all people together? I stated very clearly the evil that the Saudi's promote and why a U.S. president should not be bowing to a Saudi king-I said nothing about the Koran per say-your projecting. It is the Saudi's, by their above-mentioned actions, that disgrace their religion, not I. The rest of your comment is your view of how other's think.

GWB refused to speak with people to try and help solve the problems and he went into other countries all willy nilly. He also treated the American People as if we're stupid. Hussein playing games with the weapons inspector is no reason to invade a country that's for the U.N. to decide and according to them, the war is illegal. What evil does the Saudi government promote? Their money is in our banks. It is the individual terrorists, not the country as a whole as I was trying to point out. As far as the Qu'ran goes you said, "the only teaching that goes on is memorizing the Koran" there is nothing wrong with learning it.

No Jenea, we do have an idea of where he will take us and it's been tried before and failed miserably. Redistributing wealth on the scale he envisions is SOCIALISM. We spend approximately 4% of GDP on our military. The government spends 25% of GNP on ENTITLEMENTS.

The problem is with a two party system. One side goes extremely to the left or the right and when someone of a different party gets in, they try to take is way over to the other side and neither party tries to find middle ground. As far as wealth distribution goes, taxes were raised on the highest 5% and they aren't paying anymore than they paid under Regan.

A chance to make things better. He has already made good on some of his promises made and he can't do any worse than GWB did! GWB was the worst President this country has ever seen. Just look at his "presidential career"

GB, with Tony Blair, went to the U.N. to get "permission" one last time to ENFORCE THE 17 RESOLUTIONS already pending against Iraq. The U.N. cannot enforce ANYTHING-IT RELIES ON soft power to do so, which is why so many die while they pass resolutions. All countries signatory to the U.N. can indeed decide to go to war, despite what the U.N. thinks. There were, as I stated before, more reasons than weapons inspection problems for our decision. I already mentioned the evil the Saudi's promote-not to mention many others I've left out. The point was that reading the Koran was ALL THAT THOSE BOYS WERE TAUGHT, and that they are not taught to think for themselves.

Taxes were slashed from 70% when Reagan came into office, so a 5% rise doesn't raise it to the same level, no. The real kicker comes later, when Obama will be forced to raise taxes ever higher to pay for what the Democrats have already passed. We have been following the middle ground for far too long. Compared to years past, our tax burden is enormous. The average American has to work from Jan. 1st each year until May just to pay their tax debt to the government.

GB made mistakes to be sure-he gave us our 15th government department, bailed out car companies, and did nothing about illegal aliens who cost us billions per year, but he wasn't the worst president by any means.

So then, should we not pay taxes and have everybody fend for themselves? My taxes went up and I don't mind paying taxes, I will pay any amount of tax that is going to be used to make the country better because it is going to go to programs that are important.
