He is also considered one of the best lyricists of Rock alongside
Bob Dylan, and for his songs on the suffering of humanity and his insight into the humane in life in general. I derived more from listening to one of his songs than to much of the repetitive, and narcissistic, palaver propagated in this thread. YMMV.

Stevie Ray! Me too! My best friend Marta got to hang out and play softball with him and his band because her cousin Skip was their road manager for a time. I had a chance to see him at the Spectrum (in Phila.) in 1989 but couldn't make the trip. You can imagine how much I regret that now.
