StressFree: Awesome post guy!

I don't know exactly where and what BebeII was referring to because she often or always does not support her stances with facts and research.

With that said, if she somehow was referring to how the Puritans influenced America's religous and political landscape dating back to when the Pilgrims arrived, then maybe she was actually right for once? lol

"James A. Morone suggests that some opposing tendencies within Puritanism—its desire to create a just society and its moral fervor in bringing about that just society, which sometimes created paranoia and intolerance for other views—are at the root of America's current political landscape."
So says Morone-we can all quote someone who believes differently-nice try.

BebeII: AGAIN, you miss the point. The country was settled by Christians-not muslims, not hindu's, not buddhist's, not shinto's, etc. Our laws reflect this, and not the laws of the before mentioned religions.

You might want to give up on this guy...he'll never get it. I think the rapture will come first.roll eyes doh grin

I can't wait for the day when some of these people have to stand before God and try to convince Him that He does'nt exist.
That alone will be worth the price of admission.doh grin

NO, YOU MISS the point. You know why, because if they truly were Christians or if they wanted Christianity to have any say in their government, they would have done something about it. They may have inherited Christianity from their parents, but they had the intelligence and the mind of their own to choose their own path. That’s something that you have never experienced and may never will.

This is a clear proof that you just live in a dream world and are unable to accept what you don’t want to believe. I can show you all kinds of evidence and reasoning, but at the end you will stick to your own baseless opinions. Great waste of time…

the_guy: When you talk about other people’s blindness for not going to church you merely assume that people who don’t believe in your faith are morons who don’t know any better. That in itself is the greatest insult to humanity, and I will proudly oppose that any day of my life. I don’t believe in the afterlife and to me that’s just fairytales. You are more than welcome to wait till that day though.
I didnt say people were morons if they did not blieve.IN FACT I believe along with a lot of christians from all different churches will go to heaven.I never said people were blinded from not going to church.I can see u dont even have a clue.I read ur profile and I see ur middleeastern,So if u dont believe in a God,Whats ur problem.laugh

If I'm standing before him, I won't need to prove he exists or doesn't. There will be other things to worry about. Because I didn't believe in him will be about the only thing he has on me in terms of the way I have lived and will continue to live. I still think its going to be a neat trick though. Worth the price of admission, as you say. laugh

What does my race or background have to do with anything? I am not an atheist, meaning that I don’t know if there is or there is not a god. That’s something that we don’t know and we may never know. However, what I do know is that there is no afterlife, and I simply don’t believe in any of the “holy” religions. I don’t believe in Creationism, adam & eve, talking snakes or the holy spirit or any of that stuff. peace

She's become rather annoying with her blatant ignorance. It's one thing to disagree and still maintain a sense of respect, but all she does is scream louder instead of confirming her baseless opinions structured on fallacies and circular reasoning. She's not into discussion...

Tater: There are different types of people and beleif that society group together as Christians but they are not.... The people whom you guys are reffering to were "puritans" from the prodistant sector, and many puritans had different sets of values that they deemed important.....all puritans were different, but they are not what we call today... Christians... different belief system....

Well that's the thing Tater. I'm just trying to figure out what Bebe exactly meant when she said that our laws our based on Judeo-Christian doctrines. The pilgrims were here first, and they were pretty much Puritans...a branch of Christianity.

BebeII: And where did I generalize against anyone? Please explain. There are three branches of Christianity-Protestant, Catholic, and E. Orthodox. All have their particular way of deciphering their respective bibles. This country was founded by Christians, and our laws until recently, reflected this. There's no need to get upset about it.

not upset. Did you read that article?? I doubt it. and again, WHERE IN THE CONSTITUION DO YOU SEE A MENTION OF CHRISTIANITY. POINT ME TO IT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

StressFree: I wonder what her comeback will be?

She'll just say that was not her point or we did not catch her point...and not clarify or support her stance as usual.

That's all I ask of her in order to keep things civil and respectful here.
And calling people ignorant IS respectful? You need to look in the mirror.
