Trying here to see the 'bigger picture' on the refomr protest in Iran.....I began to think of the implications in Persian Gulf countries and in rest of the Moslem world.

Let me use the anology of a Tsumia for a moment.

The first waves of a Tsumia are mere ripples in the water. Then the waves grow in size and strength. Then as we know, the coast is impacted by a serise of massive waves.

For 30 some years, Iran has been exporting 'revolutionary Islam' to the world and Islamic countries of the world. A cleric run government that answers for the most part to him. With Mullahs that have great importance to goverace of the country. A Presidnecy and Parliment that many connection to the clerics and would answer to the celrics. This was the model being export.

NOW inside this first first revolutionary government the ripples of descent and protest are growing into those first waves. The Iranian government know if not contained....they grow to even larger waves that can sweep away the Cleric government.

But those ripples flow outside of Iran as well. To every Islamic country that Iran has sent clerics and leaders to revolutionize.
Countries like Saudi....where the ruling family allows limited local elections but keep national elections from occurring...feel a surge of wave coming.

Dubia another country of a Royal family. Feels the same surge.
Kuwait, UEA, Lebanon, Lybia, Egypt, Yemen. Pakistan, Indonesia,
Algeria, Morroco, Sudan. Somolia,....each one is sensing the ripple of this Iranian reform movement and now waiting for the next large wave to hit.

This can be much bigger than just the events in Iran.

Ask Conrad....how many of Aynn Rand's books ended.....that my CS friends.....is what can happen with a ripple, to a wave, to a
tsumia.

Magenta: We honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for proclaiming from a Birmingham jail, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” To demand justice for others, he risked his life, left his native Georgia, and ended up in jail in the-then-bigoted south, Birmingham, Alabama. We “Iranians” must do no less. We must demand justice for our compatriots who are suffering under the yoke of Islamofascism in Iran.

We also do well to recall the example of an Irish-American President—John F. Kennedy—looking at the Communists’ Wall of Shame in Berlin, proclaiming, “Ich bin ein Berliner”—“I am a Berliner.” By so claiming, he helped rally free people of the world that brought down the wall and created a momentum that eventually swept the totalitarian Communist wall-builders into the dustbin of history.

Brilliant post.

But democracy doesnt equate 2 idealism.

Funny, I thought it was Reagan who said, "Mr. Gorbechav, tear down this wall."

Must have mis-read it....confused

I actually agree, I think a lot of it began with radical Islam murdering Pakistanis and bombing their Mosques. They dug their own grave!

Are u saying if every country was a democracy the world would be some kind of utopia?

Well, none of us can speculate that, unless u have some supernatural power we dont know about!

We don't wear halos here unless one has made it to the White House......

speaking of White House....some liberal media are calling the White House...... "His House"......Glenn Beck did a filet and a shake and bake on them today. Reminded them that the 1600 Pennsylvania Ave is still owned by the people of the US and it has a temporary resident that changes every four or eight years.

I sincerely think that if Obama could pull it off, he'd love being a dictator. I doubt he has any respect for the Constitution.

U think democracy is freedom? Lol.
Oh well, that is YOUR opinion.
I will leave u 2 dream in your utopian mind.

I know some countries who think the same about socialism.
That everyone will b equal aswell. Hahaha. Both judgements show naivete and arrogance that my way is better than yours, but both also believe the very same thing will happen. EQUALITY FOR ALL.

We cannot SPECULATE, unless we are there, living it.wine

Do you want me to list the Islamic groups that took 'reponsibility' for the acts?

Ray
Yes indeed, by all means, let's see if those groups really exist or not.

Ttom
Now please tell me....how many Americans have been taken prisoner in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Ray

First tell me how many Iraqis were taken prisoner during the Iraqi invasion of the US, their massive "shock and awe" bombardment of American cities, and their brutal occupation of the entire US.

And tell me how many American children were killed by the preceeding 10 year Iraqi embargo that prevented food, medecine, and clean water from reaching the kids to keep them alive.

And how many Americans died in the bombardment, invasion, and occupation of the US, or by Iraq's massive and indiscriminate use of radioactive depleted uranium in American cities.

And tell me how patriotic American citizens (civilians) should (and would) react if such events ever really did occur.
The DU meme is old and tired-very little was actually used (hardly enough to account for all the birth defects said to have occured) and one has to prctically play in the vehicle or building hit by a DU round to be affected by it and even then you have to have open wounds.

Da10th: Yes, she is extreme right, but she has a right to be. Why not point out those that are extreme left as well instead of those that fit against your ideology?
Hon, if I'm extreme right, you don't have a clue as to how to categorize people.laugh
