I wonder where all those from Canada (WITH GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE) will now be going to have their medical needs met since they have to wait, and wait, and wait at home with hopes they do not die first??
I am one of millions of Americans who cannot afford health insurance. I just got out of the hospital four days ago. I was very close to dying, with blood clots in my legs and in my lungs. Heparin caused me to hemorrhage due to another condition I have, so I wasn't able to use that or any other blood thinners. I had to have 6 pints of blood transfused throughout the week. I ended up having an inferior vena cava filter placed, via my jugular vein. That was not a fun procedure, but it keeps clots from moving from my legs into my vital organs and killing me.
It was only through a hospital financial aid program that I was able to get the medical care I needed, and just in the nick of time. I am a hard-working, taxpaying citizen, but, still, health insurance has been far too expensive for an independent contractor like me to be able to afford. Add to that the asinine restrictions on "preexisting conditions," etc.
My hope is that this bill will help to ease the burden of those Americans who cannot afford healthcare, and hopefully for those who can to try to have some understanding and compassion for those who may even be facing imminent death, and are terrified that they can't get help simply because they cannot afford to pay for it.
Passed..?? More like "forced" upon "doer's" for the benifit of "slackers" by those whom have no concept of true leadership.. Just my opinion.. but then again.. I also believe one "gets what they pay for".. ---SoldierByte---

I think is unfair to say that everyone who does not have health care benefits is a slacker. Especially people who were dropped by insurance companies because of pre-existing conditions.
Even if you didnt I dont see whats wrong with people from other countries being happy for the people who will benefit from this improved care system.
I dont believe some of the comments Ive heard against this move. It must be terrible to sit by and watch loved ones in pain and agony simply because they cant afford medical insurance or have pre-existing conditions.
Unemployment is rife since whichever politicians decided to outsource all the jobs overseas in the name of profit and there must be record numbers of people who have found themselves atop of the mountain of those suffering from the previously government condoned, silent genocide.
I say what a shame this hasnt happened much sooner, very much sooner and well done Mr Obama, America must be so proud to see a government which does what a government is supposed to do which is to care for all its citizens, not just the better off ones.................

We need health care reform but this bill is not the way to go just a slight step in the right direction. I can only hope the government actually does a bit more correcting on this bill before it is inacted
