we are all europeans now
the loyalists have a 2 to 1 majority and they live in a democracy so...................
nationalism is an excuse for hatred
the omagh bombers wanted a united country so they killed a pregnant woman and many others
its a crazy and outdated idea

robpacciani: northern ireland is a seperate country to the republic of ireland.. if you want me to prove it, ill get you a link... they have a different government, are under british rule and even have a seperate currency... so am i wrong??? NO

You are wrong actually. Politically its separate but realistically and just by observing a map you'll see its not separate. They may have made these boundaries etc but Ireland is an island of 32 counties and I hope someday it will be politically as well. There is shared government already in Stormont, strides have been made with the Good Friday Agreement, nobody could envisage that years ago. Eventually, even more strides will be made; maybe not in my lifetime but they will be made.ireland ireland

robpacciani: ok so if northern ireland is "irish", why is the currency the pound? why is it under british rule? if thats the case, denmark is a part of germany just because it has an only border on it?? if 1916 and 1921 had not happened, even the south would be british now yes.. but its not

ok so if northern ireland is "irish", why is the currency the pound? why is it under british rule?

I have no desire to start teaching history but I would trust you know the reasons for this.

if 1916 and 1921 had not happened, even the south would be british now yes.. but its not

Yes I agree. Forgive me for not adding a question mark to my original comment about this but my point was had these events not happened and the south was still british would you be happy to sit now and call yourself British or would you still regard yourself as Irish?

You are argueing over soil and land folks. If someone in the North wants an Irish passport they are allowed have one. If they think they are Irish well then they are Irish, if they feel British well then they are British.dunno

no, they do not but people have no princples nowadays. Everyman for himself. And I am not bloody European in response to Blipper and ye're a disgrace if ye call yourselves IRISHMEN. The Fenians, all the 1916 rebels would be turning in their graves. if those men had your attitudes we'd still be serving under a union Jack. Bloody DISGRACE ye are.ireland

Fair play to you girl. It seems I would have been better off in a different era because all the REAL men seem to be dead. I am so disgusted that so called irishmen care nothing about what happened to all the great men and women who fought and died for Freedom. crying crying crying

Nothing to do with religion...I want a united Ireland because I'm Irish and the border is only hampering the Irish economy.

I want a United Ireland for the same reasons our ancestors fought and died for it. I want a United Ireland because it is only just and fair. The British colonised our land, the same way they tried to take over the world, we fought for the freedom we got and we shouldnt give up just because the majority of people are nice and cosy and happy with the situation because it doesnt affect them. think about all the hunger strikers who died for their beliefs, read the hell they went through. They were real men with principles and thought outside the box and didnt think of themselves. Now, does that answer your questionfrustrated
