sukatai: There are plenty of supporters to make Ireland a better place to live, but a lot are afraid to get involved in speaking there minds, just look at the amount of folk that have read this thread but wont voice there taughts?
A lot of the country have same beliefs as myself but wont talk up, thats why i posted thread to give people freedom of speech and let them decide on how we should have the country they live in.
Not how there told by cowen or the likes, free speech is not a crime and truth should not be hidden

What truth is being hidden?

I mean the truth of speech on how people feel about how things are, pensioners been cut, homeless still homeless with all the empty properties we have all over the place, disabilities been cut to give to pretenders, they demolished the back to work scheme, so now the lazy folk are not intised to try to go find work, cut backs on home help allowences for people that worked hard all there lives, etc, the truth about where our tax is really going and so forth,, them truths are what i mean,,, did u think i meant from sf, they have there cards on the table for all to see, they have nothing to hide if you want to check out the systems. professor

Fair play,
but if you read start of thread it was just a simple question about who should run the country or what do Irish think about the last election knowing already that this government was screwing us.

but i dont want people comming in and blaming sf for the way things are now, that is not the thread conversation, just shows others cant think forward and leave the past like most of us, things happened agreed, but as i said before not just on our side.
so we leave the past in the past, and try to better the future for all.

i just dont agree with the socialist viewpoint
we have a great social welfare system (maybe the best payments in the world)
what i would like to see is free education and healthcare but apart from that this country has a great standard of living with very few homeless people compared to other countries
capitalism works my friend, all the richest countries are capitalist democracies

No Im not happy with the government at the minute, but I would rather them in power anyday over a government controled by SF.

sukatai: it is very important that the Irish have more to work with for there people, provide more jobs so we dont have people forced to go abroad and find work, we our selevles are nearly becoming emigrants to foreign lands,, and that is down to the people we are support to have trust in, government as i said in another statment are selling our jobs abroad

Sorry but that does not really add up logisticaly...I mean the noth of ireland is a very small country. Also it would mean more states to support with welfare and healthcare.

Now i am in agreement that some thing needs to be done but i just dont see how the emphasis on a united ireland relates to bettering the country.

There are other socialist groups out there besides sinn feinn that dont have a united ireland on there agenda.

Thanks for the answer anyhow.thumbs up

it means the more counties the more Irish jobs and then taxes can be lowered and living standards a little better for those in the land when most of our daily intake is grown and produced in a land where we dont have excise, as most of the farming community would agree, local jobs, food, and bussiness.

I understand what you mean but i dont think the north of ireland is large enough to create that kind of growth you are talking about.handshake

the more the better, but it has to be under new powers,, end of day we are crazy to keep this lot next time round, be it labour, sf, or whoever we need to get a grip on reality and not just talk on forums about it.
hope you had good holidays and best wishes for new yearhandshake
