So, I have done some soul searching and decided that love just isn't worth the hassles and seems a waste of my time. Not saying that anyone else should feel this way, just how I feel. Thanks CS members for opening my eyes and saving me a lot of wasted time.

Maybe just take some time out from searching? Everyone is different. I think when people are bitter about a failed romance, they can project how they feel onto other people's relationships.

It happens when you least expect it and stop searching.

I see where you are coming from and feel like it myself a bit, but it's how we choose to view things probably, more than how they actually are. On Boxing day my sisters partner of 18 years went off with someone else, yet she's just philosophical and says how she hopes he's happy. She's cried and stuff but already she says that she'll never let herself hate him as she doesn't want to end up bitter and thinking badly of people - it's just something that happens

For me, just because other people are bitter about past relationships or unrequited love, does not mean I will let myself be.
Bitterness , like jealousy, is a very destructive emotion and does no good IMO. I for one believe that we learn from past relationships and are better equipped to handle future emotions such as love, so we learn to appreciate it more when it happens.

Yeah , heartbreaks tend to sometimes make us not want to try again . It hurts not being able to find someone to share your life with but you just have to be happy anyway .

There is absolutely NADA point in coming on to a dating/looking for romance site, if one is still not over past hurts. All that is a waste of time, for all concerned. The bitterness, if one is not careful, is simply "passed on" to the next unfortunate recipient, and that is just not fair.
NG - maybe take a break, heal yourself and offload the bitterness. Then you stand half a chance of being happy, my friend..
