"Now, the 32 million that will now be covered, as the hype goes, will still have to PURCHASE an insurance policy with their own money, in addition to new taxes that will be needed to implement this atrocity or the Government will have to pay for them, like Medicare, unemployment compensation, etc. I for one have a probem with the government mandating that I must purchase a product from a FOR PROFIT company and I cannot choose any company I want, I can only buy a policy from an insurance company in Florida. "
Well, it looks like you resent any government program providing service. And by the way , if you worked - you've paid into these programs for years. And just who would you like to purchase your health insurance from ? There are only two choices that I can see - either the government or "FOR PROFIT" companies ... OR, maybe you don't want to have insurance ???? Which is it ? Your statements sound like a lot of ramdom whining - purely because you don't care for Obama .........
floressea: Is car insurance not compulsory in most states?
It is mandatory in California .....mainly because the insurance companies were fed-up with paying for uninsured motorists and passed the cost on to the insured.....
"You're" is a contraction for "you are". Freenzy would indicate the long vowel sound of the letter "E". "Aren't" is another contraction, this time for the words "are not". We begin the first word of a sentence with a capital letter. Proper names are always capitalized. To raise a lower-case letter to a capital, press the shift key while pressing the letter of your choosing.

jvaski: Tomorrow when Health Care Reform is signed by Obama - it will mark the beginning of a change that many many of us have been hoping for for decades. No, the package is far from everything that any of us wanted - but it's a start. Hopefully it's the beginning of change of one of many facets of our society that has been desperately in need of overhauling. Personally I hope this health care reform package is modified to the satisfaction of all Americans so that we can begin to narrow the gap of this great division in oue country.
I have badgered some of you who think differently than I do. But the truth be known, the negativity, hatred and animosity in this country has sickened me to the core. It's as if a great dark cloud has blanketed our land and brought out the worst in everyone. ( myself included ) Again, I sincerely hope these issues before us all are soon brought to amicable solution - so that we as a nation can begin to recover the pride we all once had, with who we are and where we live.
Perhaps it's all of the lies and deceitful behavior from our elected officials that has jaded us. There was, believe it or not, a time in this country when people went into public service because they honestly wanted to make a difference. Now it's a steady job with a good paycheck and insane benefits. Even those who pushed for term limits continue to run for reelection each time their term is up. I am glad that Obama at least went in with the intention of making a change, however, I think he too found out that to get anything done in Washington you have to play by their rules. So to anyone who still believes this is a government of the people and for the people, God Bless you and keep drinking the kool-aid...JMO

Our government officials represent big corporations - end of story ....

Think that the President pen to this bill will stop the race card from being played, Juan?
If that were to happen.....because most of the 32m that are going to receive these benefits are minorities in the country.....and most of those that supported this bill are white DEMs. It would a good thing.
For the bill's passage surely shows the country has moved to a position of greater equality in treatment of minorities. But that is not going to be acknowledged in the world we live in.
For
That the race card will continued to be played both within country and in international community. For they have found it to be a useful political ploy and tool.
It is our 'old human nature' that brings race issues into play and to being used for political purposes. No piece of legislation can change that.
For only a radical change in our hearts can do that............
The world will not see it, Juan.....for they have blinders on. But I surely wish they would.

I see no race issue with this bill what so ever ........... And, I think other countries will applaud Obama for pushing this bill trough.......as it sets an example of similarity with other countries who have some form of government controlled health care...
floressea: Is car insurance not compulsory in most states?
I don't know about all states but it is compulsory in Ohio. There is zero tolerance for no insurance. You must have insurance to get your license plates. Now if a person drops their insurance after getting the plates, then that is their problem if stopped by police for something. They must show proof of insurance by immediately showing some type of insurance card or some type of proof they are up to date on their insurance. Without insurance, they must surrender their drivers license immediately to the police officer and their car is impounded. They go to court and their driving privledges are suspended for at least 6-12 months. And if they have an accident with no insurance, they could lose it for even a longer period of time. Ohio is very harsh on non insured drivers. However, we can purchase insurance from out of state company that will insure Ohio motorists, even an internet insurance company. I hope I have answered your question in regards to Ohio.
Other countries need to stay out of our affairs. They are there and we are here. They do not pay taxes here and we pay taxes. They ( liberal europeans) like this bill because it will bring this country down to their level. It is my firm belief that many countries are jealous of the u.s and they want to see this place socialized like them so they will no longer have to envy us for our advantages.
I am going to be quite frank and i may make a lot of enemies by saying this but i am sick of all you liberal, leftwing, socialist europeans. First off stay concerned with your own country and quit trying to demand that we adopt your ways because if you all were so great many of us would have never chose to leave crapholes like England, Ireland and France etc.( i do not include Switzerland and Germany because there are some in these places that still have sense)
