felixis99: I'm all for it, J, as long as those "other" thoughts and ideas do not violate the United States Constitution or the spirit of the Bill of Rights, and free trade.

Free Trade? Does that exist any more? No? Perhaps that's part of the problem.

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe we should care a bit less about worrying about doing things to conform to tradition , and maybe think outside the box enough to make decisions that make sense for today's reality and issues ? doh

Because tradition is what binds people together, leading them to celebrate them. ie., Turkey at Thanksgiving instead of pizza, Christmas trees at Christmas, visiting with family and friends during the holidays, the Fourth of July being celebrated with fireworks and cookouts. Traditions should not be abandoned lest they be forogtten. And it easy to forget things if they aren't remembered. Hence why we should always learn from history so that it will not be repeated.

Make sense? wine

Why we should always learn from history is precisely what I have been attempting to impress on those who desire to repeat the same mistakes using the same policies and principles which have even very recently been proven to fail us! roll eyes

What truly baffles me is that so many would prefer to have our previous administration ( or their principles ) still in place - making the same decisions that got us where we are !!!!! doh

It's so very much like putting your hands on the burner again - after having already receiving third degree burns and the smell of burning flesh still in the air ...........uh oh doh

It's not really that way Jvaski.

To me, it's all the new TAXES that come with the bill. We simply can't afford it. People think they can't afford Health care now, just wait... They really will not be able to afford it tomorrow!

I wish we only had to pay $14.oo for Health Care. Some say they can't afford $600.00 per month for coverage they have now. The premiums will go UP!!! Figure the new TAXES and if you don't PAY them, you will be fined or go to Prison!!

Don't believe me? I read it. It's in the Bill!!!

This is DISASTEROUS!!!!!!!

jvaski: I can only see two real choices .....either regulate medical providers and health insurance companies .....or provide true competition for helth insurance companies by having a public option. And people who seriously can't afford their own insurance policy payments would need to go on the government plan (public option) Then if the helth insurance companies still refuse to lower their premiums - regulate the hell out of em !

ABSOLUTELY!applause This is the correct answer!handshake
And it is once again before the Senate and I would hope that the Public Option would come into debate, but sadly, it did not. The bill was passed just the same.

What about the unemployment extension? My Senator has it before the Senate now. He asks for it to be paid for. I think this is reasonable. Why not take 9.5 Billion dollars from the stimulus. The money is sitting there for the taking! Why did the Dems say NO???? We will find out tomorrow.

Face it J... we are up the creek without a paddle!

jvaski: My opinion is so many of our senators and congressmen ( both parties ) are being paid off so well by the health insurance companies that they won't consider going after them !

Pretty much Obama rhetoric there, Juan. Insurance companies are the bad guys. Dr are the bad guys. Bankers are the bad guys. A broken Washington that none but the elite Obama can tame and understand.

And why have medical services gone up so dramatically ?
Is all that Obama's fault ? doh

Simple, it's legalised extortion, same as auto insurance, or any other form of insurance.

Try living a long healthy life without any, you're gambling, which is what insurance originally started out as. European nobles would wager on whether ships and cargo would make it across the oceans.

Doesn't it give you a warm fuzzy feeling, knwoing that we're nothing but walking wagers for insurance companies? Even better now that you can't really "live" without it.

So why make the same mistakes while trying something that is bound to fail? Why not stick with what you know, improve on it, tweak it 'til it's perfect and go from there??

Who says you can't have pizza for Thanksgiving? Heck, I've had Enchiladas and tamales one Thanksgiving and I never have turkey or ham as the traditional Christmas meal. I have gorditas or tacos, maybe even some burritos. Why? Because I can! grin There's no rule or law that says we *have* to have the traditional meal but people like it because it's comforting to them. It brings comfort to them. Heck if you want something different other than the usual fixin's make it or order out! grin

We are trying the new hon, but expect some reaction to it.If it works, excellent! If it doesn't, then don't be surprised to hear about it. Like i said, take what you know, improve on it, tweak on it until it is perfect, then go from there. Having a working ranch, I'm constantly improving stuff to make it run more efficiently. I'm never satisfied until it works the way it should. This goes for farm equipment to training colts to the newest and improved vaccines for the livestock. I also hope to never stop learning until I die. I'll read anything about anything to learn more.

Prime Rib? Now you're talkin'! grin thumbs up

jlw45: man, your in an obama frenzy, are'nt you ??!!??....

As Obama reveals his true colors his initial popularity nosedived.

So the Obaminoids have all shifted into high gear, trying to maintain the illusion of public support long enough for Obama's poison to kill the US.
