Swissblueeyes: i dont think any type of psycology will work on me..ive always been kind of head strong and make my own decisions or mistakes. lol
Oh yes, I can understand that. But in my case, I was in a vulnerable position and I was willing to be persuaded by good, healthy and very lame and lengthy arguments - I really wanted to be talked out of what I was going to do.
Instead of doing the expected, the other person chose a far more effective way: he encouraged me to do the wrong thing. Which stopped me from doing it.
In other words, even though I am headstrong and outright stubborn at times myself, I was taken so much by surprise by someone clearly advocating the wrong thing, that I didn´t want to do it any more. That´s the kind of manipulation I really welcome in my life.
sharkmeat: swiss !!! look deeply into my eyes !!! i alone control you!! shovel out the driveway !!! get out the mustang !!!!! you will bring me a cheeseburger now !!!!!

It´s not really about getting you to do the wrong thing though is it, rather steering you in a different direction and making you think about it.

Yeah, it´s extremely effective, which totally caught me by surprise.
CuspofMagic: I suppose we all are depending on the situation and the way it is delivered. Denial and Need are two intrinsic bedfellows...
prolly true. but I think to answer invincible muse who apparently doesn't like my opinion (and that's fine) I think what ur saying can happen that's why it's important to always have ones eyes open and look for any possible hidden motives when someone goes overboard to persuade - make it difficult - make sure you conciously make the choice to make your own decision - always ask yourself- ya, that is what soandso thinks but what do I think - and act accordingly
that's the best way I have found to avoid being manipulated altho it's not 100% preventable

felixis99: not intentionally love - I alwys speak frm the on here
even when I'm acting silly
I understand but isn't that a point - when does the other person who is aware know that its unintentional - perhaps its an ingrained part of some peoples communication

Huh?? If I didn´t like what you said, you´d know it...
You´re right, there´s a very fine line between persuasion and manipulation, but if the manipulation works in my favour, why should I mind it?? In a case like that I actually welcome it and I am happy to find that someone knows me well enough to use such tactics to get me to do something that actually works in my favour...
