JAN_is: Yes, and much kinder. I´ve always found it a bit difficult to manage people because I´m a bit of a softie but reverse psychology works for me as it comes naturally....perhaps for that reason.
So, do you think it works on all ages??? How well do you need to know someone to apply it successfully??

I don´t think age has any relevance at all, but it may have some relevance if the person trying it is much younger. That´s only because older people are less likely to want to listen or be open to anything a much younger person has to say...in the workplace that is.

hey jan IDK - I'm a lot older than most of the people I have worked with recently, and it's not so much that I am not open to listening to them, really I am. But I am also wise to the "con" and really it's been the younger folks who have not been open to me, so I really think IME the exact opposite of what ur saying is true
I have come very close in the last few years to filing age discrimination complaints a few times because younger co workers act like I'm not even there but ya, maybe it's because they know they can't BS me
and/or they are much less cooperative with me than they are with co workers their age and if that interferes with my performance then that is a serious issue -

BTW - MOST of my younger co workers have been wonderful...I'm referring to a select few
