Well, it's a sad thing but some see this as an internal issue, I'm one of those.
But, if the world does help, and especially if the US helps, I hope the world remembers that we were asked to help. Even if asked, I predict more of the "The United States are warmongers" rhetoric in our future.

There is no doubt that these people need help. My best bet is the UN.......
Canadianlady2: They do not want any help on the ground, they have made that clear. Just a no fly zone and bombing of Tripoli, then they can wave bye to the help.
I hope we're not the ones who bomb Tripoli. We did that in the early 80s and missed. Gaddafy's still ticked off about that.

Actually, that kind of talk has already started. When the news broadcast the story of Obama's speech re Gadhafi & Libya, even many Americans said, "Why can't we keep our noses out of other people's business?"
And most all of us are sick of being asked for help, then condemned before and after.

No fly zones require that the enforcing entity bomb the living daylights out of the subject's anti aircraft facilities wherever they are. Bombing any city requires killing civilians.

If that's the case, then absolutely not... we should not go there. We'll be torn to shreds in the world's eyes... while more money disappears into thin air, yet more sacrifices made by military families, and worst of all, the soldiers who come back with severe, life-altering injuries, or in a casket, while their families get to hear how we're even more hated than ever.
As our critics say, we're not the only country in the world. And as someone said the other day, only a small amount of help is needed. That should mean there is at least one country, besides the U.S., that could do the job. (And I doubt you would hear America criticizing the country that chose to do so - EVEN afterwards.)

This started on Feb 17th ?? I think...
If any country had plans to help they would have done so by now... but from what I have been hearing... help was not wanted.. just help to get the foreigners out.. which was forthcoming.
Now, what I dont understand is... from what I could gather, there was no strategy plan.. and now there is chaos...
What were these people thinking , no plans, no arsenal, just a collective of minds trying to overthrow a hard core dictator... who of course, was never going to say... Ok , If you dont want me I'll be hitting the road..
Well, its all so sad now... watching the videos on utube and the news...
and so now, that there is still no plan.. now they want help. The UN is discussing this... action is slow... no one really wants to create more problems...
With the hindsight of history.. it is not that strange that reluctancy is predominant...

Well correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't civilians being killed there anyway????
