The latest News is, Meat now can synthetically grown and in 10 to 20 years from now there will be no need for that part of agriculture which deals with killing livestock.

What is you opinion on this?

One area may die out while another is created. Much like handhelds are killing the PC. But I think many people will be willing to pay for real meet, like they pay premium price for the privilege to eat organic.

And if we became vegetarians we would kill this future technology as well :-)

Hmm interesting article AA.

I guess any scientific advances which are aimed at addressing environmental/animal husbandry/ethical issues are going to affect some industry or other, in turn meaning job losses in the early stages.

GM is already alive and well and probably unavoidable at this point in time, if we are to feed not only this country, but the entire planet.

Anyway, by now you probably know my views on all this, and if it means a cleaner future and the reduction of animal distress and cruelty then I'm all for it australia

general motors in americadeveloped an electric car,and gave it to a few participating families for i think it was two years to see how they would use it and compare it to internal combustion cars.It turned out that these electric cars were actually as good as an internal combustion car,and after the two year trial, they took the cars away fronm the participating families, and scrapped them.they were too good. There was a dvd made on this ,and its called what ever happened to the electric car?.We dont hav to run on oiland they know it,but the governments of all these big countries will lose millions ,so everything is shoved aside.we are getting ripped off in this country, everything is double what it costs every where else.you only hav to go overseas to see the price of new houses compared to ours.government here thinks we know nothing.thank god for democracy and being able to change governments when we please.we could hav electric cars here in big numbers, but nothe governmentwould rather make big bucks by ripping us offwith petrol prices, then sling us a carbon tax.rather than get rid of the biggest polluter the combustion engine

I know what you are saying but sudden removal of oil from the market could cause a global disaster. There are many countries relying on oil to drive their economy.

you are vtoo right there, the arabs would revert back to the days of begging i expect, the usa economy would fail, there would be mass unemployment.butin the next hundred years,we are going to be so pollute d from from carbon gases and over manufacturing by china, and thatb alone is going to wreck the worlds economy anyway.so we better start cleaning up slowly now,50 50 electric cars solar powerand eco friendly living, and gradually phase out oil.when all the oil is gone anyway, the inner earth loses its shock absorbing strenghth.the oil is a cushion, there will be serious collapses of the tectonic platesand mass earthquakes.

I’ve seen another one which suggested Earth was like a fertile egg and the fossil fuels were eventually going to help to break the earth into billions of fragments, fertilising the universe with life. laugh
