Merriweather: Daggy, happiness should not be dependent on another person, it 's supposed to be something that you can emanate from within without another person involved.
Otherwise, yes, you can get momentary happiness, but not lasting happiness.

I use to think to myself what would really and truly make me happy? Is it the money?… hmm it works for a while. Is it love? it works for a while. Would travelling and exploring the world make me happy? Again it works for a while. Would bringing up a child or multiples, watching them grow, succeed make me happy? Again they grow up before you know it and sometimes they succeed.
So I came to the conclusion, there is not one single thing or an event I can place a value on and call it true happiness, but a series of memorable moments in my life where I can look aback and say. I did it my way and although it might have been said by 'she who should not be named', I did the best that I knew how over the many (many) years to where I am today. And 'yes' there are very many memorable moments along the way. Yes, I can look back and say that I have very many happy memories that far outweigh those other times.

I think experiencing life is the secret and one cannot have secrets without experience. Sorry I find it too hard to stay serious for any longer than 3 minutes at a time.
